    Business Analyst (Flex) (6670)

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a dynamic individual with critical thinking and a data orientated mind-set. The role of the ideal candidate would be to develop and implement new or improved business solutions that drive our business forward in support of the overall business objectives and strategy. 

    This space is particularly interesting, as it requires us to build systems which are responsible for or assist in the key day-to-day activities of our business. 

    Job Responsibilities

    Problem solving and solution design 

    • Analyse, problem-solve and interpret business need and translate them into application and operational requirements 
    • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs 

    Requirements elicitation 

    • Identify key stakeholders and gather requirements for specific problems / opportunities 
    • Elicit requirements using a range of techniques 
    • Drive and challenge business areas on their assumptions in an effort to come up with solid solutions 
    • Investigate feasible solutions, i.e. enhancing of existing functionality or development of new functionality 

    Value identification 

    • Recognise and articulate the expected 'customer' value for a specific problem or enhancement 
    • Use the knowledge of our internal and external systems to maximise business value 
    • Analyse data to maximise business value 
    • Liaise with various industry partners around service integration and product offerings 

    Presentation and facilitation 

    • Interact professionally with a diverse group including executives, managers and subject matter experts 
    • Prepare and present content as well as facilitate workshops. 
    • Drive agreement and outcomes even when there are conflicting views / stakeholders 

    Communication and listening 

    • Liaise between the business units, IT domains, third party vendors and team members 
    • Actively listen, be responsive and express thoughts effectively 
    • Convey information regarding business processes and anticipated changes 

    Documentation and written communication 

    • Develop requirements specifications to an appropriate level of detail, using various techniques, while conforming to team standards 
    • Interpret and express the needs of our users through visuals, e.g. mock-ups and user journeys 
    • Assist in drafting user and training documentation 

    Testing 

    • Defining the test approach 
    • Extracting test requirements and creating test scenarios 
    • Execute manual front-end and webservice testing that may be required – which includes system, integration, regression, functional and end-to-end testing as well as exploratory testing  
    • Managing and maintaining the regression test suits 
    • Collaborate closely with developers, identifying, logging, prioritizing and verifying defects in a defect tracking system. 

    Project management and implementation 

    • Plan and manage individual projects, whilst coordinating stakeholders and timelines. 
    • Support and drive the implementation 

    Teamwork and ownership 

    • Serve as the conduit between the customer community and the software support team 
    • Collaborate with consultants and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyse trade-offs between usability and performance needs 
    • Support and Collaborate with team to achieve good outcomes. 

    Skills & Competencies

    • 2 years’ experience in a business analysis or system analysis role 
    • Experience in financial services sector would be advantageous 
    • Flexcube experience would be advantageous 
    • Experience in the use of business analysis frameworks and methodologies 
    • Experience preparing and executing functional test scripts 

    Qualification

    • Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Information Systems, Software Development, Systems/Data Analysis, BComm, B Bus Science) with strong academic performance preferred

    IT Infrastructure Project Manager (6582)

    Job Description

    The IT Infrastructure department is responsible for the provisioning, management, and maintenance of Allan Gray’s core technology infrastructure and services. As the infrastructure project manager, you will be the driving force behind the success of every key project within IT Infrastructure department, ensuring projects are completed timeously and within budget. If you are passionate about working with the latest tech and delivering the best technology services to the business, this role is for you.

    Responsibilities

    • Setting project goals and developing plans to meet those goals
    • Maintaining project timeframes, budgeting estimates and status reports for distribution to management
    • Managing resources for projects such as vendors and employees
    • Coordinating project team members and developing schedules and individual responsibilities
    • Implementing IT infrastructure strategies that deliver projects on schedule and within budget
    • Using project management tools to track project performance and schedule adherence
    • Conducting risk assessments for projects
    • Organizing meetings to discuss project goals and progress

    Skills & Competencies

    • Advanced IT skills and in-depth knowledge of different operating systems, network administration and service desk administration. AWS or Azure Cloud skills or qualifications would be highly advantageous
    • Project management and leadership skills for managing projects and the teams involved with them
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members and management and explain technical issues

    Test Analyst (Contractor - Manual) (6668)

    Job Responsibilities

    Main Responsibilities 

    • Mitigate quality risks by understanding business requirements and defining appropriate test approach 
    • Estimate test effort, extract test conditions, define test scenarios & identify test data 
    • Perform manual front-end testing of applications which includes functional, regression, integration and end-to-end testing. 
    • Collaborate closely with business analysts and developers, identifying, logging, retesting and verifying defects in a defect tracking system. 
    • Get involved in IT release activities which may involve testing and availability on some weekends when releases go live. 

    Production Support 

    • Assist in production support issues and queries 
    • Communicate progress, status and resolution to all relevant parties with a sufficient level of detail and explanation 
    • Determine the importance and priority of problems and requests raised 
    • Ensure that professionalism is maintained in all verbal interactions and written communications 
    • Follow the prescribed defect management and deployment process 
    • Liaise with ITOps and other Domains for support to resolve or assist with fixes 
    • Handle and action adhoc requests for data updates and data extracts 
    • Continuous improvement initiatives specifically with regard to quality and performance

    Job Responsibilities

    Run the domain

    • Build and maintain business stakeholder relationships and be a strong team player within institutional business.
