Transaction Strategy and Execution - Senior Manager - Johannesburg 1 1 at Ernst & Young Global Limited (EY)

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Manager in TS&E you will be a vital member of the team managing client engagement teams, executing Transaction Strategy and Execution which support key decision makers in developing and executing their transaction strategy to secure deal value. You'll assist in identifying risks and issues related to integration planning, timelines, and functional areas and be responsible for fostering an open and inclusive work environment. Part of your role will also involve developing experience across a range of different type of engagements, including pre-deal (e.g. operational and carve-out planning) and post-deal (e.g. integration planning, tracking. Having a commercial mind-set is key to this consulting-based role. 

To qualify, candidates must have:

• A degree in business, finance, supply chain, engineering, computer science or related field
• Approximately 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 4 years of related work experience
• Professional services / consulting experience: from a management consultancy, corporate finance firm or as an 'internal consultant' in a corporate environment
• Experience related to transactions (ideally due diligence, carve-out or integrations experience) or deep business operations
• Experience in re-engineering, cost optimisation, turnarounds or business integrations, with a demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis
• Deep understanding of one or more core operational functions (IT, supply chain, finance, sales & mark etc.); related certification is a plus
• Experience in leading and managing in complex business environments
• Strong systems or technology understanding with ability to make detailed assessments thereof
• The ability to make detailed assessments of operations or manufacturing infrastructure
• The ability to determine risks and opportunity areas
• The ability to synthesize approaches to complex integration conflicts
• Be analytically strong, with the ability to link operational analysis to financial statements and understand the implications of findings to client strategy.
• The ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas
• Excellent problem solving, project management, facilitation and interpersonal skills

• Ability to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of integrations, carve-outs, and other types of transaction engagements.
• Demonstrating excellent skills in project execution, including synergy assessment, project management, problem-solving, and facilitation.
• Developing excellent client relationships at the appropriate client level and being responsible for a high degree of client satisfaction with the engagement process and work products.
• Assisting in business development activities including preparing presentations and attending pursuit meetings with clients to help sell work.
