Transport Clerk at RCL Foods

Job Description    

• RCL Foods is recruiting for a driven, highly energized, fleet orientated Transport Clerk within the baking business unit.
• The suitable candidate will be required to ensure Workshop administration, responsible for supporting the workshop department with all admin related duties in the management of the vehicle fleet.
• This role will be based in Durban and reporting to the Transport Manager.

Minimum Requirements    
Education and Qualification:

• Grade 12. Preference will be given to candidates who have a recognized Tertiary Qualification

Experience and Training:

• 2 to 5 years’ FMCG working experience
• Computer literate
• Have knowledge of inventory systems
• Must be able to identify vehicle parts

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Receiving previous day diesel from fuel-attendant and capture, then record all issues on route detail.
• Also do viability report.
• Receive the stock from suppliers and do Invoice and GRN’s on Syspro.
• Do job card costings and process, capture and file in vehicle file.
• Do a weekly diesel report to Transport Manager
• Work closely with Transport Manager to ensure the success of the department.
• Review Transport plans to identify and report potential risks to Manager
• Develop inventory control techniques to avoid shortages and excesses.
• Assist Manager in controlling Transport costs while maintaining the quality standards.
• Print job cards for Mechanics, review job orders and accordingly establish priorities and service schedules to make sure parts and stock is available.
• Monitor execution of job orders and adjust schedules for timely delivery.
• Plan and monitor material movements to ensure continuous operations.
• Plan equipment, material and manpower needs for job card & service orders
• Co-ordinate with Managers in resolving transport planning and control issues.
• Work with Manager to prepare job orders on time and within customer’s specifications.
• Communicate transport updates to Manager and customers.
