    Transport Execution Agent - Durban

    Job Description    

    • Vector Logistics, a division of RCL FOODS, is on the hunt for a Transport Execution Agent FTC to join our Transport Excellence Team forpeak season at eThekwini Depot. This individiual will drive a consistent Customer Service Experience by ensuring Superior in trade Execution of daily route assignments through interactions with Drivers, Customers and the other internal support structures. Daily debrief of day to expeditors that inputs into the Short Cycle Feedback process.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Min Post Matric qualification at a minimum of NQF 6 in a relevant discipline
    • Degree in Supply Chain & Logistics is an advantage
    • Degree in Industrial Engineering is an advantage

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    On Route

    •  Liaise with Driver and Backdoor representatives.
    • Track the progress of allocated routes allocated to you on the day.
    • Record En-route incidents and provide feedback on the day’s activities to the Expeditor.
    • As the first point of contact, address any challenges that are faced at the backdoor to positively affect the outcome.
    • Proactively analyse route delays and drive communication with stores regularly in the day.
    • Engage receiving staff at customer back door to highlight delays and attempt to speed up delivery execution
    • Ensure that all RD, short deliveries, and sleepouts is logged and communicated to respective business units by end of execution day
    • Monitor routes for potential early arrival back at DC, look for opportunities to add additional routes if time allows
    • Make notes of all deviations to plan, document these and feedback to Transport Expeditor daily.

    Post-trip trip

    •   Ensure all issues identified during the day are documented and shared with DC Debriefer and Transport         Expeditor
    •  Ensure that frequency of in day update reports to DC leadership teams is followed in regular intervals
    •   Attend daily Short Cycle Feedback sessions with DC and Transport Expeditor, ensure that action item identified are closed out daily
    •  Identify daily driver contact issues, drivers not answering phones, and not giving feedback on delays. Feed this back to DC and Transport Expeditor
    • Ensure trip sheet feedback is received from DC, add own comments, and share with Transport Expeditor
    • Ensure that once DC has completed trip sheet action items, these are closed out with drivers and the CT team. Discuss feedback look when engaging drivers

     Enhanced Customer Service Levels

    •  Regular driver engagement to understand the impact of traffic on the current route schedule, identify and communicate potential changes to routing master data
    • Maintain good customer relations by delivering on promises consistently
    • Feedback on all customer comments, queries and complaints
    • Route cause analysis of queries and complaints conducted to prevent re-occurrence, daily feedback given to the Control Tower
    • Ensure drivers and VA’s adhere to offloading standards and maintain customer service levels
    • Ensure effective social systems are created between the Depot, Drivers and the Control Tower

     Drive Productivity

    • Daily engagement with drivers and DC team to gain insight into current-day issues experienced. Use a telematics system to guide discussions to drive the performance indicators
    •  Identify and engage errant customers/principals with the view to reducing offloading standards and amending/improving customer relationships
    • Identify Driver and VA challenges and influence the material that is used in training and coaching to improve Customer service levels
    • Daily engagement with the Routing and Scheduling controller to highlight all identified issues from the previous day
    •  All variances identified to be categorized into master data, ad hoc, once-off and analyses buckets
    • Ensure Routing and Scheduler updates daily action item list and closes all previous day action items
    • Keep track of all changes made to master data by the Routing and Scheduling controller/ Transport Expeditor and feedback on the effectiveness of those changes
    • Identify and highlight all back door issues to routing and Scheduling controller, focus mainly on trends
    •  Monitor planned vs actual start up times for each day, highlight recurring issues to the DC leadership team and Optimization manage
    • Closely Monitor daily customer hit rates. Customers without a hit rate must be highlighted and the root cause identified. If the GPS coordinate is wrong, the expeditor will use the actual stop location to update the master data
    • Monitor store opening and closing times against master data. Highlight any variances to Transport Expeditor
