Assist the Mechanic(s) in performing moderate to complex maintenance and repair work on machines and / or components.
Know which tools are used for which jobs and ensure the Mechanic / Technician has them within reach.
Assist artisan to obtain and check parts for particular jobs.
Clean and maintain facilities and equipment.
Maintain a safe and orderly workplace.
Physically lift, keep in place and / or move up to twenty kilograms (20kgs) or use appropriate lifting and slinging equipment for objects larger in size.
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
Matric or equivalent
Understanding of tools will be advantage
Ability to obtain certification as forklift operator within ninety (90) days of appointment
Ability to obtain certification as overhead / jib crane operator within ninety (90) days of appointment ability to follow instructions under supervision
Drivers licence – Code B will be an added advantage
