Underwrite new and renewal business according to defined underwriting guidelines and standard methodologies. .
Assist with management and development of the portfolio, market profile and producer relationships. This involves regular portfolio monitoring, brokers and/or client liaison and collaboration with business partners and business development resources.
Maintain accurate underwriting and policy records within agreed underwriting procedures.
Focus on retention of existing business and new business development objectives without compromising underwriting discipline.
Contribute to meeting the production and underwriting margin financial objectives and business plans.
Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers and be a Chubb Representative: To represent and promote Chubb and maintain a permanent contact with internal colleagues, brokers and major clients.
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Grade 12 (Matric), Bachelor level business degree or similar is beneficial.
Industry related qualification (AIISA or similar) is desirable
Good interpersonal, communication & negotiation skills.
Competent in Microsoft Office with good excel skills an advantage
Expected to undertake “on the job” training and development
Good knowledge of property underwriting with a circa 5-years +property underwriting experience.
Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions and work on one’s own initiative.
Social capital and existing relationships within the industry is an advantage.
FAIS accredited representative (having completed regulatory qualifications) is a requirement.
