Unified Communications Manager at Mediclinic

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

• To lead and deliver communications innovations (products and sevices) to Mediclinic’s businesses, and manage the team that is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and experience of Unified Communication System platforms.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: 

3 year IT related Degree and or similar B Tech within an ICT related field

DESIRED EDUCATION: None 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 

• 10 years experience in designing, building, and or maintaining communications systems.
• At least 5 years in a managerial role, preferably in Telecom, Unified Communications or IT areas.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 

• 15 years in designing, building, and or maintaining communications systems.
• 10 years in a managerial role. ICT experience within a Healthcare Industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Design and implementation of production and project support of voice network, applications, UC, and cloud-based communication solutions and platforms.

Manage and mitigate ICT Unified Communications risk for Mediclinic and Subsidiaries

• Perform Contract Management and Service Level Agreement within the portfolio
• Manage stakeholder and client service relations within the Portfolio
• Manage and control budgets/finances within the portfolio
• Lead and manage the people in the team
• Perform day to day management of UC infrastructure for Mediclinic and subsidiaries

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• 5 or more years of vendor management and contract negotiation.
• Experience implementing ITIL best practices
• Experience leading daily operations and support of traditional and unified communications, and cloud-based solutions.
• Experience with Avaya/ Cisco/ Interactive Intelligence IP telephony and strong knowledge of on premise, data center, and cloud-based communications solutions.
• Must have relevant and recent hands-on experience and working knowledge of voice, video, messaging, and conferencing / collaboration platforms.
• PBX/Call Manager, SIP trunking solutions, contact center solutions, dial plans, conferencing / collaboration systems, Avaya/ Cisco and other voice gateways, network protocols (G. 711, G. 729, SIP, H. 323) and UC, UCaaS, CCaaS, and CPaaS solutions.
• Strong project management experience in handling multiple priorities, influencing across all levels of the organization, while executing on critical deadlines.

Telecom/VoIP deployment experience
