Valuations Assistant Manager at Ernst & Young Global Limited (EY)

As a Valuations and Business Modelling Assistant Manager you will be an important part of our diversely talented, highly experienced team and work at the forefront of high-profile transactions and strategic decisions. Our team of advisors sits at the heart of a global Valuation, Modelling and Economics (VME) network of specialists who deliver high quality advice to our clients.

Your key responsibilities

To provide solutions to clients with regards to valuations, and reasonable opinion, as well as delegate work to junior staff, coach and train where necessary. To eventually develop a network of relationships and as a result securing a revenue stream. You will work on valuation assignments for large corporate clients, manage time and delivery to clients. Build relationships both with clients and within the firm. Produce written reports and keep up to date with relevant technical information.

• Have a proven technical ability to conduct valuations and do fair and reasonable opinions.
• Exposure to JSE documentation will be an advantage.
• Have excellent report writing skills.
• Can build and develop relationships with clients and staff at all levels.
• Good time management skills - well organized and disciplined.
• Be creative and challenging.
• Be a team player.

To qualify for the role you must have

• CA or other relevant professional/ tertiary qualification
• At least 4 years Valuations experience
• Experience in valuing intangible assets for IFRS 3 purposes impairment tests and valuations for transaction purposes preferred.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience working in venture capital, investment banking, commercial banking, or consulting businesses.
• CFA certification or significant progress towards these or similar certifications.
