Job Advert Summary    

• The Van Porter supports the delivery of company products to customers by assisting the Driver with loading, offloading, and ensuring safe and efficient transport operations. The role includes handling stock, completing delivery documentation, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with Food Safety and Health & Safety standards. The incumbent must be physically fit, able to work in refrigerated conditions, and willing to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, overtime, and sleep out on delivery routes when required. Strong teamwork, reliability, sober habits, and attention to detail are essential to ensure accurate and timely deliveries and smooth transport operations.

Minimum Requirements    

• Matric / Grade 12
• Good general health
• Must pass a medical fitness examination
• Sober habits and responsible behaviour
• Basic mathematical ability
• Ability to read and write
• Physically fit and able to load and offload goods
• Willingness to work in refrigerated vehicles and cold environments
• Willingness to work shifts, flexible hours, weekends, and public holidays
• Willingness to work overtime when required
• Willingness to sleep out on delivery routes when operationally required
• Strong team player
• Own mobile phone required
• Clear criminal record

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Assist with the delivery of company products to customers
• Support the Driver with loading and offloading of goods
• Ensure all delivery paperwork is correctly completed and handled in line with procedures
• Ensure return processes are completed according to company standards
• Assist in safe parking and reversing of the delivery vehicle
• Maintain responsibility for company stock on the vehicle
• Ensure cleanliness and housekeeping of the company truck
• Comply with all Health & Safety and Food Safety policies and procedures
• Perform ad hoc operational duties within warehouse and transport functions as required
