Ventilation Officer at Barberton Mines

Description

• Coordinating and prioritizing ventilation and occupational hygiene services delivery.
• Implementing and maintaining ventilation and occupational hygiene monitoring program.
• Conducting risk assessments and hazard identifications, identifying potential hazardous materials and installations, and investigating challenges encountered.
• Ensuring that all working conditions are regulatory audited
• Establish and maintain emergency preparedness program
• Assist with ventilation and rescue plans by providing updated information on ventilation and escape route plans

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications with Maths and Science
• Intermediate Certificate in Mine Environmental Control (COM).
• The applicant should be a member of Mine Ventilation Society of South Africa.  
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Ventilation and Occupation Hygiene practices.
• Valid certificate of physical fitness for underground work.
• Ability to communicate with people on different levels.
• Computer literacy. (Excel, Word, Power point)
• Report writing and presentation skills.
