Execution of R&D Clinical Trials By being Responsible for the receiving, ordering and collection of R&D samples as indicated in the study protocol Ensure that the experimental and R&D tests in large animals are planned, scheduled and executed as indicated in the respective protocols in accordance with current quality practices and standards (ISO 9001 and GCP).
Administration and Reporting by Directly inform the Veterinarian of any sick or injured animals Write reports of monthly activities and send to the Veterinarian and inform the Veterinarian immediately of non-conformances Compile the clinical report of each clinical case in line with SOPs
Create and maintain a database of the disease status in the facility / company which is updated on a monthly basis Serve on the OBP Animal Ethics Committee Executing Herd Health functions bye ensuring herd health functions are executed as per programme or as indicated by the Resident Veterinarian Administer treatment to sick animals as instructed by the Resident Veterinarian or as per SOP Aid in the supervision of the junior staff especially on weekends and public holidays Conduct and organise relevant training interventions for the team
Responsible for the monitoring of the necessary parameters and general maintenance of the air and drainage systems within the facility and reporting back to the Resident VeterinarianAdhere to all occupational safety requirements and regulations at all times Live the values of OBP every day in all operational activities undertaken Support the provision of relevant evidence to all internal and external audit requirements where needed
Minimum requirements
Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (NQF 6) A Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Nursing will be an added advantage (NQF 7) SAVC registration 2 Years experience as a Veterinary Nurse within a clinical research environment.
