VPO Manager at The South African Breweries (SAB)

• The Key Purpose of this job is to implement, entrench and improve the use and effectiveness of VPO in the plant to deliver business results.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with Safety standards and guidelines and drive a safety culture to ensure safety in the work environment.
• Act as the Management Pillar Owner for the Plant.
• Use effective loss and waste analysis to identify gaps in the Plant management system vs. VPO and drive actions to close the gaps.
• Manage monthly review of VPO gap closure and scores.
• Conduct quarterly review of VPO and send monthly/quarterly updates to the Zone.
• Co-ordinate VPO for the Plant, working with other Pillar owners to ensure an integrated VPO implementation and improvement process.
• Interface with Zone VPO team on monthly and quarterly reporting across all Pillars.
• Identify and develop VA initiatives for future commitments and drive/monitor current year committed VA initiatives.
• Ensure Plant’s routine meetings (MCRS and TORs) are documented and standardized.
• Interface with Zone VPO Management Pillar and regional VPO team to ensure Plant implementation and improvement plans meet expectations.
• Ensure suitable training capability exists (materials and facilitators) to cover Management Pillar training needs.
• Co-ordinate, track, and monitor GOPs compliance across the Plant, and submit monthly compliance scores to Zone.
• Lead, coach, and train team members.
• Drive continuous improvement in engagement of people in the Plant.
• Own, guide, and standardize 5S implementation across Plant Departments.
• Co-ordinate, track, and monitor Management Pillars and Plant VPO information for accurate and timely submission to the Zone.

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in Manufacturing Excellence or Department Management.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering (advantageous).
