Warehouse and Operations Manager at Salt South Africa

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategies to optimise warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfilment, and logistics.
• In charge of the receiving, storage, and distribution of goods.
• Monitor and manage warehouse equipment and supplies.
• Manage and lead a team of warehouse staff and do the hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular cycle counts, and coordinate physical inventory audits.
• Implement and improve operational processes and systems to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations are in order.
• Stay updated with industry trends and implement best practices in warehouse and operations management.
• Analyse operational data and key performance indicators to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions.

Requirements:

• 7-10years’ experience in warehousing / operations of which at least 5 years should be in senior management
• Relevant Degree or National Diploma in Operations / Warehousing / Logistics
• Tertiary qualification in Management
• Proficient in using warehouse management systems and other relevant software
• Knowledge of stock-taking systems and understand warehousing, logistics, and operations
• Proven track record of managing, leading, and developing the capability of a team
• Knowledge of disciplinary procedures and health and safety regulations related to warehouse operations
• Valid driver’s license
