Job Description

Required Skills    

•  A relevant tertiary qualification
•  Minimum of 5 years’ experience in supervisory capacity and in warehouse environment 
•  Must be able to work overtime / weekends / public holidays if and when required (will be shift works) 
•  Be able to work in a team as well as independent 
•  Knowledge of BPCS / WMS would be advantageous and must be computer literate in MS excel and working knowledge of MS office.
•  Must be assertive and able to motivate staff in a high pressured environment 
•  Have good spoken and written communication skills at all levels with both internal and external customers 
•  Be accurate and pay attention to detail 
•  Be able to prioritize workloads and work under pressure
•  Excellent problem solving skills 
•  Attention to detail

Duties & Responsibilities    

•  Plan and coordinate the daily activities of the warehouse team to ensure optimal utilization of warehouse space is achieved and staff is scheduled based on volumes moved. 
•  Measure and put measures in place to manage the efficiency of your team. 
•  Ensure stock are rotated, monitored and managed in such a way to minimize stock losses to the company.
•  Ensure stock counts are done and variances managed as per company procedures 
•  Ensure export requirements are met and non-conformances communicated immediately 
•  Ensure requirements for lab samples are met and managed 
•  Analyse operational data and solve daily operational problems including monitoring and measuring picking and put away accuracy and benchmarking thereof 
•  Ensure compliance to HACCP, OHS ACT and disciplinary procedures 
•  Ensure the warehouse is well maintained and adheres to FIFO & 5S standards.
•  Ensure SOP’s are updated on a regular basis and improvement opportunities identified. 
•  Ensure all changes in SOPs are implemented and communicated to staff 
•  Ensure high levels of customer service are maintained with internal and external customers 
•  Manage quality claims, return to supplier, from Plant to supplier.
•  Monitor and investigate all accidents and incidents and implement strategies to minimize related risk and costs. 
•  Ensure that all internal control procedures and policies surrounding warehousing and inventory are in place to maintain the BPCS system.
