    Machine Attendant - Bonnievale

    Job Description    

    • Join Lactalis at our Bonnievale Plant in the Process department with the main responsibilities to monitor quality of wrapping materials, monitor packing materials used and to ensure correct seal integrity according to procedure. Must have at least 2 years experiences within manufacturing environment.  Must have sound knowledge of products and completed basic dairy course.  Must be able to demonstrate sound knowledge of food quality and full adherence to all Safety & Health policies, procedures and legislation. Be fluent in English and be computer literate.

    Required Skills    

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Must have done basic dairy training or training will be scheduled
    • At least 2 years' experiences within a food manufacturing environment
    • Computer literate
    • To be a team player
    • Must be physically strong and fit
    • Must be prepared to work shifts, weekends, long hours and Public Holidays
    • Attention to detail

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Responsible for the case packer machines in accordance with prescribed procedure
    • Take responsibility and ownership of the case packers
    • Willing to be trained on case packers, flow wrap, dispatching and filling lines.
    • Monitor quality of packing materials
    • Correct setup and operation according to the procedure
    • Ensure control check are in place to ensure customer satisfaction
    • Monitor packing materials used, that dates are correct, total packages per box and correct total boxes per palette
    • Responsible for completion of final packing check sheets
    • SPB's to be done every 30 minutes
    • Monitoring of the production process and general housekeeping
    • Monitor down time on shift
    • Monitoring packaging waste and complete daily shift reports
    • Report all defects on the line to the Process Coordinators
    • Responsible for production efficiency and set up the machine to meet required standards
    • Compile with food safety and maintain safety in you department
    • General housekeeping is important and must be done during each shift.
    • Learn how to use all working parts on the case packers.
    • Work area must be clean, not items on floors or under tables.
    • Responsible for safety and food safety
    • Must know to whom they have to communicate unconformities
    • Written approval from the supervisor is required before entering confined spaces

    Required Skills

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    •  Plan and coordinate the daily activities of the warehouse team to ensure optimal utilization of warehouse space is achieved and staff is scheduled based on volumes moved. 
    •  Measure and put measures in place to manage the efficiency of your team. 
    •  Ensure stock are rotated, monitored and managed in such a way to minimize stock losses to the company.

    Milk Receiving Attendant (Processing Department) - Kyalami

    Job Description    

    • The attendant is responsible for the receiving of milk. Monitoring of the receiving process and general housekeeping on and around the tanker.  Capture receiving data, such as test results and information of milk received.  The daily shift report will be completed accurately and timorously.  Operating the pump and ensuring the correct information is used on the records.  Report all defect to the maintenance department.  Maintain receiving equipment and pipes. Perform receiving test before milk is down loaded.

    Required Skills     

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    •  Computer literate
    •  Not be afraid of heights and or suffer from claustrophobia
    •  Basic knowledge of manufacturing principles

    Financial Manager (Management Controlling) - Stellenbosch

    Job Description

    Required Skills     

    • CIMA/Cost and Management Accounting degree
    •  Accounting Degree preferably with Honours or post graduate qualification
    •  CA/SA - Advantageous

    •   At least 3 years post qualification experience in a financial function
    •  Experience in a FMCG environment with preference to experience within the Dairy Industry

    Industrial 

    •  Maintain fixed asset register by annual verification and compliance with company policy
    •  Review balance sheet reconciliations on monthly basis with supporting documentation.
    •  Internal control: Document all processes and review on an ongoing basis i.e.: internal control, stock, creditors,
    •  costing and month-end.
    •  Analyse feedback from external and internal auditors on controls, procedures and general accepted accounting
    •  principles and implement new measures.
    •  All internal processes to be documented and review on a continual basis
    •  Budget, Forecasting and Actual reporting: Complete monthly / weekly / daily reports accurately and on a timeous
    •  basis for plant meetings and head office submission.

    Senior Production Coordinator - Processing department (Kyalami)

    Job Description    

    • Be the GMP and CIP champion for the site, also making sure that internal and external audit requirement for FSSC 22000, HO Raw milk audit, Agri and SHER audit requirements/ standards are met. Monthly reporting on parameters not met per verification exercise conducted and cost savings opportunities- water/chemical %/time. Review of Quality Documents and Lead investigations of non-conformances where required. Ability to maintain accurate primary documentation to support MMS/BPCS & GMP Mass Balance

    Required Skills    

    • Dairy Manufacturing qualification preferred
    • A Tertiary Qualification: BSc /National Diploma / Equivalent in Biotechnology, Food Science

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Fat & Protein losses to be in line with budget in the variance consumption of materials report – protein solver to be used accurately for all batches.

    • Work in close collaboration with Analytical Lab to produce accurate Fat & Protein results for input into GMP Mass balance: knowledge of FT1 & Food Scan instruments required.
    • Control bulk base and ingredient losses to be within the scrap factor
    • Adhere and maintain FSSC 22000 Food Safety system. Ensure precise adherence to the Control Plan.
    • Control all relevant CIP’s, validations and verification, including documentation & records.
    • Responsible for internal and external audits: FSSC 22000, HO Raw Milk Audit, Agri, and NOSA audits.
    • Operational input of data on GMP system and to produce the GMP report daily. To be followed up on the floor.
    • Follow up the COD analysis every day and prepare the actions for each high COD value.
    • Setup Annual CIP Validation/ Verification/Audit schedule
    • Track weekly CIP Validation/ Verifications
    • Report on CIP Validation/ Verification results in Food Safety and Quality meetings
    • Monthly reporting on:
      • Parameters not met per verification exercise conducted
      • Cost savings opportunities- water/chemical %/time
    • Review of Quality Documents and Lead investigations of non-conformances where required
    • Ensure Update and adherence to control plan
    • Control and identify opportunities for Tanks standing times and all Quality requirement regarding tankers
    • NQL champion for the site, identifying opportunities for reduction and leading reduction activities.
    • Participate in safety improvement activities in the department
