    Financial Manager (Management Controlling) - Stellenbosch

    Job Description    

    • This is a new role within our Lactalis SA that will provide financial support to the business, within the specific function (Industrial), by maintaining sound financial, accounting and administrative controls and records in order to meet the operational requirements for Industrial site. Supply accurate and relevant information to key stakeholders to support effective decision making. The role is based at our Head Office in Stellenbosch but frequent travel to Kyalami or Gqeberha will be required.

    Required Skills     

    • CIMA/Cost and Management Accounting degree
    •  Accounting Degree preferably with Honours or post graduate qualification
    •  CA/SA - Advantageous
    •  Good analytical skills   
    •   At least 3 years post qualification experience in a financial function
    •  Experience in a FMCG environment with preference to experience within the Dairy Industry
    •  Knowledge of BPCS System or similar ERP System and Reporting Tools
    •  Accuracy and details orientated Computer literacy: Excel (Advanced Level) and related MS Office Packages
    •  Knowledge of a standard costing system (preferably BPCS) and understanding of profitability analysis
    •  Collaborative Management Style
    •  A resilient individual with excellent interpersonal and clear communication skills
    •  Customer oriented, assertiveness and problem-solving skills
    •  Result driven, business acumen and good decision-making as well as strong leadership skills • Accuracy and attention to detail
    •  Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
    •  Extensive travel to the Kyalami and Gqeberha Plants

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Industrial 

    •  Maintain fixed asset register by annual verification and compliance with company policy
    •  Review balance sheet reconciliations on monthly basis with supporting documentation.
    •  Internal control: Document all processes and review on an ongoing basis i.e.: internal control, stock, creditors,
    •  costing and month-end.
    •  Analyse feedback from external and internal auditors on controls, procedures and general accepted accounting
    •  principles and implement new measures.
    •  All internal processes to be documented and review on a continual basis
    •  Budget, Forecasting and Actual reporting: Complete monthly / weekly / daily reports accurately and on a timeous
    •  basis for plant meetings and head office submission.
    •  Drive continuous cost improvement initiatives and report savings to Head Office accurately on monthly basis.
    •  Monitor that the KPI indicators are achieved monthly with reference to the budgeted targets and previous year.
    •  Understand and report on KPI variances on volume, price and efficiencies.
    •  Involvement in CAPEX meetings and the measurement of any savings coming from CAPEX identified projects.
    •  Treasury / Risk: Authorised EFT uploads are done accurately and in adherence to payment terms, manage creditors and payments to improve cash flow.

    Financials

    •  Review balance sheet reconciliations on monthly basis.
    •  Review purchase price variances in Industrial versus Procurement with reconciliation between the two Departments reporting.
    •  Review stock losses monthly INV019.
    •  Review stock days on packaging, ingredients, consumables and spares INV032.
    •  Review open orders on system ACP012.
    •  Review usage and price variances INV017 / PUR027.

    Budget

    •  Assist with the consolidation of the budget and ensure variances are explainable on all the areas of the file.
    •  Cross balancing with the various departments.
    •  Interdepartmental Professionalism
    •  Support other departments
