    Sales Specialist - Johannesburg

    Purpose of the Job

    • To manage the interface between the organization and industry-specific customers, in addition provide support in order to optimize opportunities sales and maximize growth potential in line with Commercial's plans

    Who you are

    • Highly motivated to develop and maximize new sales opportunities in the Mining sector (specifically lubricants sales).
    • Built meaningful business relationships in the mining sector.
    • Expert at identifying business opportunities and onboarding new customers.
    • Passionate about people, relationship building and results.
    • Operate well under pressure, are self-motivated and can work independently.
    • Good understand of what drives customer decision making processes.
    • You have excellent interpersonal skills and can deal with company executives, procurements officers, contract managers, shop floor personnel, mine engineers.
    • Reputation for providing excellent service, adding value to clients and growing your sales portfolio.

    What you've done before

    Baseline:

    • NQF Level 7 (in Science, Engineering, Business or related).
    • Minimum 8 years sales and marketing experience preferable in the petrochemical and mining sectors.
    • In depth knowledge of the mining sector.
    • Experience working with large corporate accounts.
    • Exceptional communication skills 
    • Experience working with, budgets, teams, supply chain and customers.
    • System skills (email, MS Office, SAP, CRM).

    Advantageous:

    • Post-graduate qualification in engineering or Sales and Marketing.
    • 10+ years’ experience in sales and marketing of lubricants.
    • Ability to work individually and successfully in an ever-changing environment and navigate ambiguity.
    • Demonstrated ability to self-manage your portfolio and understand the demands of the business environment.
    • Advanced selling technique knowledge, technical skill or desire to acquire same.
    • Ability to work successfully in an ever-changing environment and navigate ambiguity.
    • Demonstrated ability to convince customers, retain customers and grow the Lubricants business.
    • Ability to converse with Engineers, technical and finance staff at various companies.
    • Deep knowledge of the products you will be selling and its application in mining.

    What you'll be doing

    • Providing service excellence to an existing customer base.
    • Continually looking for opportunities to expand your customer base.
    • Margin and Volume Management against business plan.
    • Managing a budget.
    • Aggressively taking on the competitor and keeping them away from your business.
    • Forecast your business requirements to supply chain.
    • Liaising with Engineering on new projects and equipment maintenance.
    • Developing customer contracts, updating customer contracts.
    • Negotiating business deals.
    • Working on SAP (checking Stock, Checking customer details, check pricings, rebates).
    • Setting up customer meetings, attending meetings.
    • Developing a Customer Call plan and managing CRM.
    • Opening new accounts 
    • Developing strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
    • Creating environment for customers to recommend your service and products.
    • You will create a strong brand image.
    • Identify new opportunities in the market for products and services.
