    Senior Server Support Engineer

    Purpose of Role:

    • To Provide a high level of support to our Enterprise clients.

    Critical Requirements - Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

    • Matric or Grade 12 Essential
    • Microsoft MCSA 2016 or Equivalent
    • Extensive experience supporting Microsoft Exchange 2010 or higher
    • ITIL v2 Foundation
    • Extensive experience supporting Active Directory and Hyper V
    • Extensive experience supporting multi-vendor Hardware platforms
    • Self-starter with a proven track record and contactable references
    • Own reliable transport and drivers' license

    Primary Role Accountabilities:

    • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Senior Enterprise Server support to all Datacentrix KZN clients, which will include Software Support Services i.e. Microsoft Windows Server, Vmware, Veeam, Microsoft Exchange, and Hyper V are essential. The individual will also be responsible for troubleshooting hardware issues across platforms HPE, Dell, Lenovo, Huawei, IBM platforms.     Desktop Support Technicians X36

    Managed Talent Solutions is looking for X36 Desktop Support Technician for one of their client in Centurion. This is a month contract. The Technicians will be required to provide end user support for the LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network) and Mobile infrastructure. The candidates must be willing to travel and accept deployment to nine (9) South African provinces.

    Qualifications and Skills Required:

    • Matric plus Diploma in Information Technology or related field
    • CompTIA A+ and CompTIA N+
    • MCSE
    • Deep skills and experience in mobile and desktop support of Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows) and Microsoft applications (Office, Outlook, Internet Explorer, WSUS, etc)
    • Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving technical issues
    • Knowledge of HP/Cisco switches and routers
    • Deep knowledge and understanding of video conferencing solutions, including both physical and online and virtual based solutions like Skye for Business, MS Teams and Zoom
    • Good documentation and administration skills

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide general IT support to all IEC users
    • Attend to LAN, WAN and Mobile devices calls
    • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors
    • Resolve connectivity issues
    • Asset Management processes and procedures for IT equipment
    • Setup and configure desktops, printers and mobile devices to the network
    • Install application programs requested by the user

    IT Infrastructure Systems Administrators X10

    Managed Talent Solutions a division within Datacentrix is looking for X10 IT Infrastructure Systems Administrators for one of their client based in Centurion. This is a month contract. The Systems Administrators will be required to do maintenance, management and support of the company's data centre infrastructure.

    Qualifications and Skills Required:

    • Matric plus Diploma in Information Technology or related field
    • Certifications: MCSA, MCSE or MCSD
    • Certification: MCITP Enterprise Administrator (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) on Windows Server
    • Certification: VMWare Certified Professional 6 – Data Center Virtualization (VCP6-DCV)
    • Certification: MCDBA 
    • Software Patch management, uptime monitoring and top tier support
    • Extensive knowledge and experience on virtualization technologies (VMWare and HypeV)
    • Networking skills, configuration of switches, IP ranges and VLANS (VPN, Cisco routers, Satellite networks, Switches, VLANs, VOIP etc.)
    • Skills and experience in data-center hardware and software support and installation
    • Good knowledge of backup solutions (e.g. Veritas Nedbackup, Enterprise Vault, etc.)

    Responsibilities:

    • Administer and manage processes as part of a systems administration team and be responsible for selected processed in the data-center
    • System administration skills required will create a balanced team combination with cross-functional skills and experience to be able to support the following systems and components in the data-center:
      • SCCM
      • SCOM
      • VMWare
      • Active Directory and DNS
      • Back-ups and archiving
      • Veritas
      • Storage including a storage area network (SAN)
      • Symantec antivirus
      • Patch management (Ivanti)
      • Server management (Microsoft Windows)
    • Server hardware and software support;
    • Provide support to provincial and municipal offices;
    • Manages and monitors anti-virus products across organisation;
    • Manages and monitors patch management across organisation;
    • Resolves third level support problems;
    • Maintains 99.999% uptime of data-centre operations;
    • Server maintenance and monitoring including knowledge of SCOM;
    • Monitors and maintains the load balanced internet information servers (IIS);
    • Is responsible for the overall infrastructure architecture, including compliance with the company’s enterprise information architecture;
    • Knowledge of security Firewalls;
    • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway (Forefront TMG), formerly known as Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server (ISA Server)
    • Knowledge and experience in virtualization technologies, with special focus on VMware;
    • Coordinate and support team members of systems administrators;
    • Reviews change requests for completeness and analyses, prioritises, categorises, approves, and schedules change requests;
    • Monitors the successful completion of all change requests, including change planning, building, testing, and implementation to ensure that these processes follow the change schedule;
    • Reviews and evaluates the change process;
    • Manages and monitors data storage using storage area network (SAN) technologies;

    IT Service Desk Operator X8

    Managed Talent Solutions a division within Datacentrix is looking for 8 Service Desk Operators for one of their client based in Centurion. This is a month contract. The Service Desk Operator will be responsible for logging the call and ensuring that the respective call is assigned to the team responsible for its resolution.

    Education and Skills Required:

    • Matric plus Diploma in Information Technology or related field
    • ITIL certification
    • Understanding of different network topologies
    • Experience using Service Desk (Helpdesk) applications such as Remedy
    • Experience and/or skills in desktop support
    • Networking skills (must have understanding of the following Cisco routers, Satellite networks, Switches)
    • Good knowledge of hardware and software support and installation
    • Knowledge of Symantec Endpoint Protection edition (i.e. installing, updating definitions files etc.)
    • Good knowledge of tools such as SCCM, Remote Desktop, TeamViewer etc. for remote support
    • Troubleshooting and problem solving technical issues 
    • Good working knowledge on Microsoft desktop products (i.e. Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, Outlook, WSUS, etc.)

    Responsibilities:

    • Logs calls on Remedy tool for incidents, problems and requests
    • Serves as the first point of contact for all incidents
    • Ensures all incidents are understood, logged, resolved, assigned to the appropriate domain and closed
    • Answer user telephone calls and log issues that users are experiencing
    • Provide first line support on any IT or system issues experienced by the users
    •  In cases where they are unable to resolve the problem, they will have to direct the caller to the relevant person that will resolve the issue
    • Follow-up with the respective technicians or system owners to ensure that user calls are resolved
    • Provide feedback to the users on the status of their calls
    • Logs all incoming calls, and ensures sufficient information is recorded
    • Informs the user of how the incident will be resolved, handled
    • Identifies the severity and priority of all problems
    • Communicates to the appropriate level with the client, explaining severity of problem, the resolution, and an estimated time for service recovery

    Network Security Analyst

    Managed Talent Solutions, a division within Datacentrix is looking for a Network Security Analyst for one of their client based in Centurion. This is a 6 months fixed term contract. The Analyst will be required to support, maintain and enhance the company's network infrastructure. This include installation, layout, and maintenance of all network components. Plan, design, analyze, and provide technical support for data communications network or group of networks. Conduct research and evaluation of latest network technology and recommend way forward for the company in regards to the network equipment. 

    Qualifications and Skills Required:

    • Matric plus Diploma in Information Technology or related field
    • Cisco and Aruba certification
    • Good all-round technical knowledge of LAN/WAN network equipment (CISCO & HP Procurve / ARUBA), technologies, protocols and communication standards (e.g. Ethernet, 1000BaseT, TCP/IP suite, RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS)
    • Knowledge of Radius, Active Directory and Location Based Services like Cisco OS, Aruba NetEdit, HPE IMC, Aruba AOS-CX; Open Source tools (e.g. Nagios, Cacti, Zenoss)
    • Network security skills and knowledge (Symantec antivirus End Point Protection edition)
    • Good knowledge of cabling standards and specifications (e.g. UTP category 5, single and multi-mode fibre)
    • Deep skills and experience in designing and supporting of Microsoft networks
    • Ability to manage and coordinate mini projects
    • Must have comprehensive knowledge with Cisco / Aruba /HPE switches and routers
    • Design and implementation of network infrastructures
    • Working knowledge of Radius, Active Directory and Location Based Services like Cisco OS, Aruba NetEdit, HPE IMC, Aruba AOS-CX
    • Strong passion for LAN / WAN & wireless, understanding application weakness, and designing solutions to protect against these.

    Responsibilities:

    • Working with current IT System engineers in designing and delivering the installation, upgrade, operation, control, maintenance and effective use of local and wide area networks for the communication of data, voice, text or images within the company
    • Meeting the required levels of service performance such as throughput, availability and response time, and the timely and effective handling of enquiries and requests for guidance or action on problems
    • Monitoring and reviewing the performance and quality of service provided by the network and its constituent hardware, and software
    • Taking responsibility for the investigation, diagnosis, trouble shooting and resolution of problems, including negotiation with users, specialists, other staff and suppliers as appropriate
    • Taking account of the needs for quality, security, availability and safety, utilizing, as necessary, specialized techniques, tools, methods and standards
    • Uses established methods, hardware and software tools and procedures for planning, installing, configuring, commissioning, monitoring and investigating the network
    • Providing ongoing operational client support when scheduled to do so and carries out both simple and complex incident resolutions and changes scheduled maintenance routines and network checks
    • Reviewing network statistics, identifying trends in traffic flow and levels of service. Proposing capacity changes and contingency arrangements as required
    • Contributes to development of complex communication systems, including the areas of investigation, analysis, specification, design, construction, testing, maintenance, upgrade and migration
    • Assisting in the collation of service reporting metrics and identify/suggest where metrics are missing or are surplus to requirements and other duties as assigned
