Plan and coordinate all deliveries of glass products to customers in the region as well as planning and coordinating of replenishment of stock, ensuring the full utilization of return loads by liaising with relevant customers and the central logistics team. Offload and coordinate stock movement for goods received from import containers and rail deliveries as required in a safe manner, adhering to documented process.
Main Objective
Determine and manage stocking requirements by analyzing sales trends per product and generate orders for replenishment of glass from Springs as per requirement.
Minimise breakages through proper delivery control documents and correct packaging and storage methods
Identify and recommend opportunities for system and operational improvements for stock management.
Ensure on Time and Full delivery hit rate of 95% to customers.
Manage and control any customer returns, ensure that customer complaints are properly logged and defective material is returned under controlled conditions to PFG Springs.
Assess new customers' premises to establish if they are suitable for 30 ton deliveries and advise customers on safe off - loading procedures.
Control all documentation and SAP system records for stocks and deliveries to ensure system integrity which in turn allows accurate stock replenishment and planning decisions leading to cost efficient supply to this hub.
Plan and coordinate all locals and import deliveries to ensure efficient and timeous delivery of stock with cost effective utilization of return loads to Springs.
Meet legal and safety requirements by ensuring the maintenance of overhead cranes and delivery vehicles and attachments, trailers and equipment, ladders and tools used for loading and unpacking of containers and de-crating of same.
Motivate and manage the work's team performance in line with company and departmental objectives.
Oversee the development of skills and maintain sound employee relationships.
Control and ensure working practices and good housekeeping within the warehouse are continually practiced and updated through scheduling and providing routine and regular training (multi-disciplinary) and Audits.
Maintain all necessary training, legislative records and ISO/SHERQ procedures and records.
Critical job requirements
Grade 12
Diploma in Operations Management/Logistics Management
3 years experience in dealing with customer demands in a distribution environment
3 years supervisory experience managing OSH Act requirements
5 years experience in stock management in a ERP system (pref SAP)
2 years supervisory experience in a B2B logistics or warehouse environment
Knowledge
OHS Act knowledge for warehousing and distribution environment
Working knowledge of SAP R3
In depth knowledge of best practice glass handling and storage principles
Practical knowledge of warehousing best practices and Kanban principles
