Warehouse Supervisor at Barberton Mines

Description

• Identify ways to support and ensure transactional Physical Supply Chain activities complies with all Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) requirements,
• Coordinate the safe operation performing regular risk assessments, monitoring safety performance, and addressing any risks/issues immediately.
• Assisting the Procurement Manager to ensure that the section safety targets are achieved based on Visible Felt Leadership (VFL’s) and safety campaigns to ensure the safety of all personnel in the section.
• Manage warehouse practices with the aim to achieve optimal process and people efficiencies,
• Manage and schedule audits of the supply process (e.g. stock/cycle counting, safety reviews etc) 
• Manage the budget associated with warehousing activities,
• Ensure that stock levels are optimized and align to operational requirements,
• Ensures operational efficiency across sites.
• Inspects and monitors housekeeping practices at the stores,
• Manage and resolve payment queries on Goods Received Vouchers (GRV) - receipt, invoice, stock discrepancies and invoice mismatches to enable their timely payment.
• Manage and escalate corrective measures on incidents of shrinkage or fraud that are observed,
• Manage inventory optimization to decrease wastage at the operations by holding the right amount of inventory,
• Provide input and guidance to sourcing and purchasing teams on optimal fulfilment i.e. centralized vs. de-centralize, vendor managed inventory (VMI) etc.,
• Manage warehousing cost, maintenance and/or internal budgets (MARSH audits etc.)   
• Collaborate with management teams to ensure alignment of operational requirements with stores activities,
• Develop and mentor team to ensure that agreed service levels are maintained, and service excellence is met,
• Embrace a procurement team culture of diversity and inclusiveness,
• Support cross functional team interactions with internal stakeholders to execute warehousing activities,
• Ensure adherence to performance standards / KPIs at stores and institute corrective action where necessary.
• Ensure personal and team compliance to relevant external and internal governance requirements,
• Ensure personal and team compliance to applicable legislative requirements pertaining to all logistical activities.

Requirements

• NQF Level 6 and/or NQF Level 7 in Supply Chain Management (Logistics/Purchasing/Business Management),
• Five (5) years relevant experience within a Warehouse and Logistics Management within Mining Industry, of which 2 should be at a management level,
• Knowledge of Material Management Policy and Procedures,
• Proficiency in operating Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint),
• Proven track record of use of software applications - ERP Systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, SYSPRO, SAGE, SAP.
• Excellent communication skills in English - both written, verbal with a clear effective customer service approach and problem-solving skills,
• Ability to lead, develop talent and influence others,
• Stakeholder management skills with an ability to engage and influence others.
