Water Quality Advisor _Bulk Distribution and Production at Rand Water

Minimum Requirements

• NQF8 (4 years’ post matric tertiary qualification at a University / University of Technology) in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Water Care, Water Utilisation, Microbiology or Public Health.
• 3-5 years postgraduate work experience in water quality management systems in the water services industry.
• A valid driver’s licence.

Additional requirements and experience:

• Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 22000
• Understanding auditing of water supply systems
• Understanding and Implementation of a Water Safety Planning.
• Understanding the requirements of Blue Drop and IRIS.

Primary Duties

• Participate in auditing, optimisation and implementation of an integrated water quality management system for the entire water supply chain (catchment, production, bulk and retail distribution) by incorporating and applying principles of international water safety planning. Aspects will include, but are not limited to:
• water quality guidelines and standards
• water quality monitoring programmes
• water quality risk registers
• water quality management procedures and incident protocols
• Identify legal requirements and plan compliance measures taking cognisance of the Water Services Act and related regulations, National Water Act, SANS 241, Blue Drop requirements, National Water Resource Strategy, etc.
