Web Developer at Clickatell

As a Web Developer, you will be joining an agile team of versatile developers who are passionate about the products they build. We enable our clients to seamlessly transact and engage with their customers (on a global scale via channels like WhatsApp, Google RCS, Apple Business Chat, etc).

You will be developing user centric UIs with a major focus on User Experience and collaborate with the backend developers to create class leading products. You will play a vital Web Applications Development role where you will take the designs created and converting them to functional deliverables.

• Work with an awesome geographically distributed team of engineers, designers, and product managers to implement the next generation of products and/or features.
• Be part of and actively contribute to a cross-functional Agile/Scrum team that works together to become a high-performing team in delivering world-class technology solutions.
• Utilising PHP, AngularJS 1.5, Angular 2+, and Bootstrap for Development and maintenance of user interfaces and client-side web applications on our commercial and internal platforms.
• The candidate in this role will play a vital Web Applications Development role where he/she will take the designs created and converting them to functional deliverables.
• Translate UI designs into well-organized and structured HTML/CSS compatible with modern browsers and use open source tools & frameworks to improve the structure and maintainability of the front-end code where possible.
• Development work aligned to the Clickatell coding methodology.
• Support of applications while working with on-site and remote development teams.
• As a Senior, play a thought-leadership role within the Application Development Community of Practice (COP), supporting the Tech Lead in driving the vision of the COP Core Competencies.

Our Champion's journey thus far

• 3+ years of software development experience with HTML/CSS/JS, PHP, AngularJS, Angular 2+
• Diploma in Information Technology, BTech (IT), B.Sc. Computer Science, or equivalent
• Relevant IT Degree a significant advantage
• Have significant experience developing Enterprise Grade applications at scale
• Experience with various JS frameworks AngularJS, Angular 2+, JQuery, Node.JS
• Experience with various PHP frameworks Symfony 2, Laravel, Zend, Proprietary
• Experience with HTML/JS/CSS, Bootstrap, Angular Material, and other component libraries
• Experience with Git, GitLab or other Source Control Management tools
• Experience with integration of data from various back-end services and databases
• Experience with various dependency management tools Composer, bower and NPM
• Proficiency with Linux (CentOS)
• Have excellent technical documentation skills, and excellent communication across multiple cultures and time zones
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies and embracing of their values and principles
• Familiarity with Test automation, unit tests and functional tests
• Familiarity with Java 8, Spring, Spring Data, Jersey, Hibernate, Kafka, Avro, Tomcat, Junit an advantage
• Familiarity with Databases MySQL, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Redis, AWS S3, Liquibase, ETL, and data integration tools
• Familiarity with Logging Log4j, ElasticSearch, Kibana, Logstash, FileBeats an advantage
• Familiarity with AWS (Amazon Web Services), SonarQube, Jenkins, Maven, XMPP, JIRA and advantage
• Familiarity with Power BI an advantage
