Welder - Richards Bay at Mondi Group

The purpose of this position is to perform specialized welding service, repairs and maintenance by maintenance welding to plant machinery / equipment as requested to a wide range of equipment in his/her area of responsibility to ensure optimum availability and efficiency of equipment

Profile Requirements:

• Grade 12 + Full N3
• Qualified trade tested as a Welder
• Code 08 (EB) Driver’s License

Experience:

• 2 – 3 Years’ experience as a qualified, trade tested Welder within a manufacturing industry.
• Specific technical experience in the fitting field within Pulp and Paper

Key Performance Areas:

• Perform specialized welding duties in the operations on plant and equipment related to welding repair and maintenance services as well as preventative maintenance on components.
• Perform welding diagnostic duties by executing actions related to; test, inspect, troubleshoot and fault find, check, measure, record, etc. to achieve outcomes such as reducing downtime, minimize breakdowns, improving availability of plant and equipment.
• Activate periodical prescribed audits and inspections to minimize risks of failure
• Operate and execute all tasks safely according to operating procedures and policy
• Perform and execute preventative maintenance duties on equipment and plant
