Work Management Planner at Anglo American

Job Description:

As a Work Management Planner, you will be responsible for the entire spectrum and detail of planning and will include the following:

• Creating or completing the required production and production services planning templates. 
• Encouraging contribution of planning details from those expected to do the work and incorporate crew and supervisor input into planning job cards. 
• Identifying and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful planning of job cards for completion before their scheduled release date
• Listing tasks and the sequencing thereof within the job card to be executed. 
• Conditions and constraints of the task in the job cards. 
• Hazards, controls and permit requirements according to guideline in the job cards. 
• Instructions, visual images and procedures according to business guidelines in the job cards. 
• Reviewing the Task Status Report on a daily basis to assist in prioritizing the planned work and to track upcoming work.
• Planning the labour, equipment and materials for the planned work in the job card. 
• Task durations to be included and estimated using historical information and business rules. 
• Supporting the Work Management process by ensuring that all required resources for Approved Work are identified on the job card.
• Ensuring accurate task sequencing.
• Determining and include the latest start date and earliest start date in the job card.
• Job tracking and history requirements are to be included in the job card as per business requirements – measures and the frequency thereof.
• Analysing current planning trends, recommend and obtain approval for amendments to template where improvements are specified.
• Adherence to all safety & health standards

This role is in the Mining Technical Services department at a Band 7/9 level reporting to the Section Manager Work Management.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12/N3
• Diploma/ Degree in Mining Engineering or other N6 Qualification will be advantageous
• Driver’s Licence: Code B (Light Vehicle)
• Computer Literacy: Knowledge and experience with mine planning and scheduling software will be advantageous 
• A3 Safety Training

Experience:

• Relevant operational experience
• Relevant Planning experience
