• Workday Functional Lead required with a solid understanding of the landscape and art of the possible
• across the different modules, focusing on the experience for the colleague, the Manager and the ultimate internal client with a strong strategic arm and involvement alongside key stakeholders.

Job Description

• Provide advice and support on the Workday platform in practice formulation and associated best practice improvement tactics; enabling the provision of specialist expertise.
• As a Functional Lead there is a primary focus on strategic involvement with relevant CoE's (Center of Expertise) and key stakeholders across the group. Aligning functionality and best practice
• with requirements of business by engaging in research for the best possible solution within the Workday eco-system and across available modules. You are required to not only be the driving force
• behind key deployments and the strategic intent thereof but also as a mentor and coach for Specialists within the Workday team.
• Your expertise on Workday will play a vital role in project deliverables, strategic alignment and feature management.

Strategic partnering:

• Demonstrates a deep understanding of HCM (Human Capital Management)/ SaaS platforms and possibilities.
• Uses business acumen/perspective to translate the Business Unit strategy into a clear delivery objective within the direction set by the bank and accountable CoE.
• Is a strategic partner to the Business Unit CoE’s/functional leaders in a fast moving, complex and developing environment.
• Uses analytics, data and trends both internally and externally to diagnose Business Unit issues and recommend effective solutions.
• Articulates strategy and is able to translate into actions and results for the function.
• Align to People & Culture strategic objectives and how to get the most out of the overall Workday subscription

Trusted Advisor:

• Owns the relationship with the Business Unit leadership as a trusted advisor.
• Exemplary coach and sounding board to the CoE (Center of Expertise) and other senior leaders in the business.
• Demonstrates influence and credibility with senior leaders across the business.
• Actively assists to build effectiveness and develop the top team

Ownership of the end-to-end delivery:

• Operates as the strategic partner for internal clients and CoE's, and responsible to execute on the defined people strategy.
• Works with the Business Unit leadership to identify and develop talent and robust succession for the area.
• Has a high level of focus on customer relations.
• Drives a culture of customer centricity and responsiveness across all teams.
• Able to prioritize, manage and lead a team of specialists to deliver across a Pan African agenda.

Takes the business priorities and translate these into People Strategies and takes end-to-end ownership for delivering the following key people processes to their client by undertaking the following:

• Translate business strategy into people strategy and ensuring that workforce planning is embedded whilst providing People analytics that deliver relevant insights.
• Support and drive major change and People Function Projects.
• Specify capability gaps and be a mentor for Specialists and Configurators
• Takes ownership of strategic resource planning and delivery and works according to a Scrum methodology to deliver on time and quality work
