Zone Technical Expert – Injection Moulding - SAB Prospecton Depot at The South African Breweries (SAB)

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Support operations in safe working practices​
• Support operations on VPO implementation and compliance​
• Conduct and lead performance optimization initiatives (plant and process capability studies)​
• Support in the maintenance of standards, quality methods, Injection moulding knowledge and benchmarks ​
• Supporting projects implementation (innovation, cost reduction, new materials, new technologies, etc)​
• Support operations in reducing losses in the processes, energy consumption and water usage including champions initiatives​
• Support operations in the Total cycle of operational plant performance target setting, follow up & outcome​
• Increasing capacity via Capex implementation or via debottlenecking

Technical Knowledge​​

• Specialised knowledge of the injection moulding process and quality standards​
• In depth knowledge on maintenance processes and standards in Injection moulding​
• In depth knowledge of Injection moulding Good Operating Practices (GOPs)​
• Support Zone in value engineering and innovation ​

Continuous Improvement​​

• Strong knowledge with problem solving and coaching ability ​
• Complete detailed data analysis and lead problem solving initiatives ​
• Complete best in class benchmarking and implement ​
• Support execution of Value Engineering projects and initiatives ​
• Identify risks and develop mitigation plans​
• Improve and manage maintenance (asset management, predictive maintenance) and production KPI reports ​
• Develop and continuously improve key performance indicators to measure value engineering benefits ​

Stakeholder Management​​

• Work closely with Logistics, Packaging, Maintenance and Innovation teams for successful implementation and delivery of strategic projects and initiatives​

Minimum Requirements:​​

• University Degree/BTech – Mechanical Engineering or a related field or National Diploma Polymer Technology​​​​
• 5 to 10 years experience in Injection Moulding with an exposure and understanding of crate manufacturing preferred​
• Experience with world class manufacturing principles​
• Ability to understand the Injection Moulding production process in detail​
• Ability to define, develop and execute testing plans for new technology products and infrastructure​
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and multi-disciplinary projects​
• Ability to define project scope, execution plan and team structure for project implementation​
• Ability to manage and monitor scoping multiple projects concurrently​
• Must possess strong understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and how they relate to a business​
• Ability to communicate with and have impact and influence​
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly grasp complex subject areas​
• Strong VPO experience and execution required (internal candidates). ​​​​
• Excellent at owning, managing and driving change​
• Communicates effectively by conveying information and ideas in a clear, meaningful, and timely manner, providing information to ensure understanding​
• Sound knowledge of production and quality systems, such as SAP and Manufacturing Systems
