To safely and efficiently operate a forklift to handle, move, load and unload wool and mohair bales within the warehouse and container areas, ensuring proper stacking, inventory management and compliance with safety regulations.
Requirements:
Matric
2-3 years’ experience in the wool store
Forklift license (valid)
Knowledge and be able to load bales in a container for export/shipping.
Work independently
Be able to work in a very high demanding environment
Understanding of load distribution and weight limits when stacking.
Ability to operate safely in dusty environments and around heavy bales.
Good physical health; ability to lift, bend, and be on your feet for extended periods.
Must be willing to work long hours during peak season

Key Responsibilities:
Operate a forklift to load and unload wool and mohair bales from trucks, and containers (Inside – outside).
Ensure all bales are handled with care to avoid damage to the product.
Stack and arrange bales in designated storage areas according to warehouse protocols.
Assist with loading/unloading containers for shipping, following correct weight distribution and securing procedures.
Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance of the forklift.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse and container yard.
Follow all health and safety protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE (dust masks, gloves, etc.).
Report any damaged goods, equipment faults, or safety hazards immediately.
Assist with inventory counts and updating movement logs or scanning systems.
Cooperate with other departments to meet production and dispatch schedules.
Always maintain a safe speed while ensuring productivity on the Shipping floor
Perform ad hoc duties as required by the line manager
