    Assistant Store Manager - (Free State/Bethlehem) (Bethlehem)

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    • We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Retail Store Manager to lead our team and drive the success of our Econofoods Retail Store. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achieving sales targets, delivering exceptional customer service, and effectively managing store operations.
    • With an ability to reduce risk and stock losses, and ensure world-class store standards in order to meet business targets.
    • The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for all the operational aspects relating to the Store, as well as to empower and lead the team of employees to reach and exceed business objectives. 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Drive and promote sales by ensuring world-class customer service.
    • Ensuring excellent customer service standards are maintained at all times.
    • Maintaining outstanding store standards by following the company merchandising standards, and promotion of stock, stock management, and merchandising to optimize product availability and presentation together with correct pricing of products.
    • Assisting in the receiving of stock, stock counts, managing expiry dates, and condition of stock.
    • Recruiting, training, and managing a high-performing team while building and supporting the company's Ho Hola Culture.
    • Cash Management, including preparing floats, daily banking, and providing cashier support.
    • Management of team – training, coaching, and performance of team members
    • Maintaining and adhering to all health and safety processes and regulations. Making sure the hygiene requirements and food quality and safety standards are followed.
    • Analyzing store sales data and identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
    • Overseeing store operations, including opening and closing procedures, and security.
    • Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers, vendors, and stakeholders.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification. A tertiary qualification will be an advantage.
    • Previous experience of 3-5 years as a retail store manager or assistant manager, preferably in the FMCG retail industry, leading a team. 
    • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and delivering excellent customer service.
    • Knowledge of retail operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and store procedures.
    • Valid Driver's license preferably your own vehicle.

    Senior Logistics Planner (Gauteng)

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    • The Senior Logistics Planner is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all planning activities across inbound and distribution logistics. This role ensures the efficient scheduling of supplier deliveries, optimization of outbound routes, and overall alignment of planning with business requirements.
    • By managing both inbound (Opsi Tramm system) and outbound (OPSI route planning) functions, the Logistics Planning Manager drives operational efficiency, accuracy, and compliance across the logistics network.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Leadership & Oversight

    • Lead and manage both Inbound Planning and Distribution Planning teams.
    • Provide tactical direction and daily support to ensure cohesive planning operations across inbound and outbound flows.
    • Drive standardization and best practices across both planning functions.

    Inbound Planning & Scheduling

    • Oversee inbound scheduling through the Opsi Tramm system, ensuring alignment with procurement, GRV processing, and storage capacity.
    • Monitor inbound truck schedules, delivery adherence, and resolve supplier/transporter deviations.
    • Ensure accurate and timely updates of daily inbound schedules across all facilities.

    Outbound Planning & Route Optimization

    • Oversee the use of OPSI route planning software to design efficient primary and secondary distribution routes and retail deliveries.
    • Ensure live monitoring of outbound deliveries, responding to deviations and adjusting routes dynamically.
    • Align distribution plans with sales requirements and warehouse readiness.

    ​​​​​​​Performance Monitoring & Reporting

    • Consolidate and analyze data from both inbound and distribution functions.
    • Generate and review reports on KPIs such as truck turnaround times, on-time delivery rates, supplier adherence, and route efficiency.
    • Use performance data to provide recommendations and implement continuous improvements.

    ​​​​​​​Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Act as the primary link between procurement, warehouses, suppliers, transporters, and sales teams as well as system partners.
    • Ensure clear communication of inbound schedules and distribution plans across the organization.
    • Participate in management meetings and provide planning performance insights.

    ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Compliance & Safety

    • Ensure both inbound and distribution planning comply with transportation, food safety, and regulatory standards.
    • Promote safe operations and adherence to cold chain and road safety regulations.
    • Oversee master data accuracy for both inbound and outbound systems.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics planning, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
    • Strong knowledge of Opsi Tramm (inbound) and OPSI route planning (distribution) systems.
    • Comprehensive understanding of Econofoods operations and interdepartmental influences.
    • Knowledge of cold storage logistics, food safety standards, and road safety legislation.
