    Facilities Assistant (95716)

    Facilities Assistant – Role Description:

    • Helpdesk
    • Assist & work with the Facilities Manager to coordinate on-site and ad hoc contractors to attend to job cards from the business.
    • Checking reported items before sending them to contractors.
    • Showing contractors items to be attended to.
    • Ensuring items are fixed/resolved to satisfaction.

    Stationery

    • Issuing stationery to the business.
    • Ordering & Financial Billing of stationery.

    Access Cards

    • Work with Facilities Manager to issue & recover access cards from employees, visitors, clients, contractors and ED/SD Partners.
    • Manage access card supplies and conduct maintenance on Access Card Printer when needed.

    CCTV Camera System

    • Work with Facilities Manager to review and provide security video footage when required.
    • Basic Office Maintenance

    Such as:

    • The replacement of tap filters.
    • Emergency removal of ceiling tiles when necessary.

    Event Setups

    • Work with stakeholders to with setup for various events.
    • Ensure adherence and compliance with safety documentation & processes.

    Facilities Inspections

    • Assist with regular inspections of premises.
    • Conduct Inspections of company and emergency equipment.

    Fleet Vehicles

    • Inspection and attendance to company vehicles.
    • Assist with basic repair or maintenance of company vehicles.
    • Assist with ensuring company vehicles are serviced or repaired by service providers.

    Office Printers Maintenance

    • Assist with replenishing office printer toners.
    • Assist with reporting any printer maintenance or repairs to the Information Technology Department.

    First Aider Officer

    • Provide support to the Health & Safety Department as a First Aid officer for the Hatch Greenstone office.
    • Assist with First Aid responses on the premises.
    • Conduct scheduled inspections of First Aid facilities and equipment with the Health & Safety Department.

    Fire & Evacuation Marshal

    • Provide support to Health & Safety Department with Fire & Evacuation Marshal duties on the premises.
    • Conduct quarterly inspections of firefighting & evacuation equipment.
    • Assist in the event of an emergency and evacuation.

    Safety, Health & Environmental Representative

    • Provide support to Health & Safety Department
    • Conduct quarterly Health & Safety inspection
    • Report findings to Facilities Manager and Health & Safety Department for further action.

    Assistance

    • Support the company with Facilities functions while Facilities Manager is away. Such as:
    • Call-Out duties
    • Working after or before normal office hours
    • Supporting Contractors and Security during nightshifts.

    Area Construction Manager (Camp and Airport) - 12-month Fixed Term Contract

    As the successful candidate, you will:

    • Be responsible for the overall planning, direction, organization, and budgeting of all construction on the project to the highest safety and quality levels within time and costs constraints.
    • The Construction Manager participates in the conceptual development of a construction project and oversees organization, scheduling and implementation strategy.

    You bring to the role:

    • Responsible for all safety planning associated with the project construction execution methods selection, with support of the Project Manager and Site Health and Safety Manager
    • Responsible through the constructability coordinator to set up and oversee the constructability process
    • Coordinate with the client, project management, and project services in identifying required reporting procedures and formats for client and Hatch management needs
    • Establishes project field procedures and objectives within corporate policies and procedures as necessitated by jobsite conditions
    • Review and approve construction estimates, budgets, forecasts and schedules
    • Review construction/erection drawings and specifications, develop strategies for erection interfaces, determine appropriate construction methods and pre-empt problem areas
    • Ensure the necessary permits and licenses (notice of project, insurance certificates, workers compensation, environmental permits etc.) are identified and obtained prior to the start of construction activities on site
    • Liaises with the Project Manager and the project core team of design engineers, procurement, planning and scheduling and other personnel and other personnel as required in setting priorities to ensure timely construction performance
    • Liaises with Client team, Engineers and Contractors to deliver the project in a safe manner, on time and within budget
    • Liaison between Contractor and Engineers to resolve field engineering queries
    • Develop site organization and staffing requirements required to execute construction activities within project schedule and acceptable costs
    • Direct, monitor and motivate subordinate construction specialists in performance and direct activities as necessary to ensure project requirements are achieved
    • Ensure adherence to all local regulations and statutory requirements in site activities planning
    • Assist the procurement team to review contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and contractors
    • Liaise with client representatives as required to ensure shutdowns, relocations, tie ins, etc. are planned safely and in a timely manner with minimum disruption
    • Recommend requirements for construction resources and strategies to meet the schedule in each area
    • Participates in the labor studies, manpower sourcing exercise and the establishment of the industrial relations strategy
    • Work with Contract Administrator to ensure contractors adhere to the requirements of their contracts
    • Assist with management of Contractor claims
    • Chair Contractor progress, cost and safety meetings

    Qualifications and Experience

    • National Diploma/Degree in Engineering
    • Minimum of 12 to 15 years’ experience in construction of which 5 to 7 years should be Construction Management
    • Experience in the EPCM mining and construction environment
    • Demonstrated health and safety management focus in the construction phase of project delivery, and extensive knowledge of health and safety management procedures, safe work practices, and applicable legislation
    • Registration as Professional Construction Manager with SACPCMP or equivalent will be advantageous
    • Strong leadership skills, the ability to lead a team and fit into a team environment
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
    • Effective report writing skills, planning and organizational skills
    • Well-developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
    • Able to communicate directly with the client on key issues
    • Extensive knowledge of all phases of construction operations
    • relating to field activities of all engineering disciplines, construction and maintenance practices, procedures and techniques, and applicable codes and standards
    • Familiarity with a wide range of equipment, tools, and technologies used in construction

    Senior Site Planner - 12-month Fixed Term Contract

    As the successful candidate, you will:

    Key Responsibilities:

    Safety

    • Have a strong personal commitment to safety
    • Take personal responsibility for safety incident reporting
    • Embrace Behavioral-based safety ethos
    • Take personal responsibility for stopping any unsafe behavior as and when it occurs, and thereafter reporting the safety incident so that corrective action may be obtained
    • Have/gain familiarization with Hatch safety processes, protocols and procedures.

    FEL3 data verification and Project set-up

    • Meet Functional Managers to finalize FEL4 project set-up schedule (using standard template)
    • Conduct interactive planning meeting with Functional Managers to finalize project implementation schedule
    • Confirm level 1and 2 project schedule and critical path and set baseline for project implementation phase
    • Confirm and refine FEL4 level 3 scheduling (incl. early works and understand schedule basis).

    Project master schedule development

    • Confirm and refine FEL4 level 3 scheduling
    • Identify and schedule critical vendor data requirements
    • Populate approved measurable commodity quantities and labor to produce baseline S-curves
    • Participate in project schedule risk analysis and include resultant contingency in baseline
    • Maintain FEL4 schedule basis
    • Using progress reports (early and late curves) and project schedule (level 3 baseline); maintain, optimize and monitor progress. Identify and resolve issues
    • Develop FEL4 level 3 commissioning schedule
    • Analyze contractor level 4 schedule and provide recommendations.

    Project schedule monitoring and updates

    • Generate and verify weekly updates and issue progress reports
    • Maintain and optimize schedule, monitor progress, highlight and resolve schedule issues
    • Generate all progress curves
    • Develop and maintain commodity and resource profile
    • Extract and publish four-week look ahead schedule
    • Monitor slippages and critical and near critical paths and discuss with Project Controls Manager for resolution w Establish all equipment/ material and contractor ROS (Required on Site) dates
    • Provide schedule input to the procurement bid process including reporting requirements and vendor and contractor milestone dates
    • Assist with bid evaluation and ongoing management of the vendors and contractors with respect to their schedule commitments.

    Project trend and change management

    • Once a change is approved, maintain and optimize the schedule, monitor progress and highlight/ resolve areas of potential concern.

    Project progress measurement and earned value

    • Generate and verify weekly updates and issue progress reports
    • Obtain progress info via progress reports, EPCM status report, vendor progress report and cost report and calculate progress for construction packages

    Qualifications and Experience:

    Essential

    • Tertiary qualification in engineering or other relevant discipline or appropriate substituted experience
    • 8-15 years experience as a planner in a multi discipline project environment
    • Sound technical knowledge in a multi-discipline environment
    • Knowledge of the estimating and tendering processes
    • Knowledge in the use of Primavera Project Planner P6
    • Technical overview of work methods and techniques
    • Risk management principles
    • Good knowledge of project management principles
    • Knowledge of forms of contract will be a definite advantage.

    Preferred

    • Interpersonal and good communication skills in the areas of both written and verbal communication
    • Computer literacy (MS Office package)
    • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Planning and organizing
    • Problem solving and mitigating skills
    • Presentation skills
