    Dispatch Manager - Cape Town , Epping

    Job Description

    • We are looking for a diligent and experienced Dispatch Manager to join our team in Cape Town, Epping. The Dispatch Manager will be responsible for overseeing the dispatching of our fleet of vehicles, coordinating schedules, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods to customers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Managing delivery schedules, communicating with drivers and customers, and ensuring timely and accurate departures
    • Coordinating the movement of goods within a warehouse by assigning orders to pickers.
    • Order processing: Receiving customer orders, verifying details, and assigning them to appropriate pickers within the warehouse.
    • Inventory management: Checking stock availability to confirm orders can be fulfilled and identifying potential stock shortages.
    • Route planning: Creating efficient delivery routes based on location, order volume, and driver availability.
    • Driver communication: Assigning orders to drivers, providing delivery instructions, and updating them on any changes or delays.
    • Vehicle tracking: Monitoring the progress of outgoing goods, ensuring timely deliveries, and resolving any issues that may arise
    • Customer service: Communicating with customers regarding order status, delivery updates, and addressing any concerns.
    • Load optimization: Ensuring trucks are loaded efficiently to maximize space and minimize transportation costs.
    • Reporting and analysis: Generating reports like on-time delivery rates and identifying areas for improvement.
    • Receive and dispatch orders for products or deliveries; Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance; Use radio, phone, or computer to send drivers on the road.
    • Comparing purchase orders with invoices and packaging lists.
    • Inspecting deliveries to ensure they match order and invoice criteria.
    • Receiving and signing.
    • Dispatching and Receiving Clerks verify and maintain records of incoming and outgoing goods in warehouses or distribution centers and prepare goods for dispatch.
    • Processing, packing, and preparation of orders. · Proper management and organization of stocks. · Precise and thorough examination of products

    Requirements:

    • Previous experience in dispatch management or logistics
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
    • Knowledge of routing software and GPS systems
    • Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety protocols
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field preferred
    • Must have own reliable vehicle
