    Laundry/Linen Room Supervisor

    Description

    • Manage overall daily operations of the Linen Room.
    •  Ensure quality controls are in place for all  linen processes, rejecting any exceptions.
    •  Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the linen area.
    •  Oversee in getting filled linen carts to designated areas.
    •  Ensure a clean and tidy linen room at all times and report to the management if any items have been damaged (linen as well as equipment).
    •  Report to the Hospital Manager in case any items need to be discarded or replenished.
    •  Ensure that linen is properly stored and recorded.
    •  Ensure that the proper procedure is followed when linen needs to be discarded.
    •  Receive records and oversee sorting of clean linen items from laundry and arrange them properly on the shelves and racks.
    •  Ensure team members adhere to all Health and Safety Regulations.
    •  Keep and update the Laundry/linen productivity report daily.
    •  Take linen that is spotted out and place it separately for re-washing or special treatments.
    •  Any linen that is torn is placed separately and returned to the Laundry for repair.
    •  Keeps linen for all different departments separate.
    •  Oversee the issuing of linen via the hospital’s requisition system.
    •  Attends and participates in in-service education classes, on-the-job training programs, etc.
    •  Assists in standardizing the method in which laundry tasks will be performed.
    •  Makes recommendations to the hospital Manager.
    •  Manage customer service/patient concern issues quickly and effectively.
    •  Carry out monthly stock takes as per management policy.
    •  Assigns schedules and duties to laundry staff as per business needs.
    •  Assists in determining staffing requirements necessary to meet the Laundry Department’s needs.
    •  Performs other duties as assigned and can carry out any other reasonable task set by the hospital’s management.

    Requirements

    • Grade 12
    • Computer literacy in using MS Office along with Outlook.
    • Good command of written and spoken English communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities are essential.
    • You should have previous supervisory experiences within Housekeeping Department ,Computer literacy and previous experiences  an advantage.

    Client Services Officer - Richards Bay

    Description

    • Orientate new Specialists and General Practitioners
    • Regular visits to Specialists and General Practitioners
    • Maintain a database of Specialists and General Practitioners
    • Conducting ward rounds and interaction with patients
    • General hospital marketing
    • Distribute and maintain marketing material stock levels
    • Coordinate corporate functions and events
    • Manage and market various Melomed support programs at hospital level
    • Compile and submit all required reports
    • Build and maintain relationships with the various external stakeholders: ie media
    • Ensure client expectations are met
    • Ensure quality client services principles are maintained
    • Ensure that all patient queries are addressed and resolved
    • Uphold the Melomed professional image and standards
    • Uphold the Melomed corporate image and standards
    • Exhibit a culture of service delivery

    Requirements

    • Matric
    • Marketing or Public Relations qualification and experience
    • Previous experience working in a healthcare/hospital environment
    • Valid Driver’s License and own car
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Excellent computer skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to cope well under pressure
