    Job Description

    • Our client, a growing organisation within the data, business information and digital services industry, is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Data Operations Assistant to join their team in Brackenfell. 
    • This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with information, computers and structured processes, and who takes pride in getting things right the first time.  The successful candidate will support the Data Operations team by researching, capturing, reviewing, organising and maintaining accurate business information.
    • The role requires excellent concentration, strong English reading comprehension and the ability to follow detailed written instructions and established processes. You should be comfortable spending extended periods working on a computer and performing repetitive tasks while maintaining a consistently high level of accuracy.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Matric / Grade 12 essential
    • Previous experience in data capturing, administration, research or computer-based work will be advantageous
    • Strong computer literacy
    • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, online systems and web-based applications
    • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Technical Training Officer - Welder and Boilermaker - Durban (69930)

    Job Description

    • The Shukela Training Centre (STC) has a Permanent employment opportunity for a Technical Training Officer - Boilermaker and Welder reporting to the Mechanical Technical Training Manager, based in Mount Edgecombe, Durban.
    • The Shukela Training Centre (STC) is a well-regarded training institution established about 50 years. The STC delivers high quality agricultural and engineering training to learners in the sugar industry and other industries within and outside South Africa's borders.
    • The successful incumbent will have an opportunity to contribute to the training and development of up-and-coming Welder and Boilermaker artisans.
    • The successful incumbent will be responsible for delivering theoretical and practical training to aspiring artisans. Tasks will include, but not limited to:
    • Ensuring that training is delivered by means of appropriate training methods which ensure that learners acquire knowledge and skills as prescribed in the curriculum.
    • Ensuring that appropriate assessment methods and techniques are used to aid learners' progressive development and achievement of competences as prescribed in the curriculum.
    • Conducting various forms and types of assessments, including trade tests and moderations.
    • Providing course reports for all learners enrolled in allocated courses and assisting in the compilation of learners Portfolios of Evidence (POEs).
    • Designing, developing, and preparing quality training materials as well as ongoing refinement and improvement of available training materials and resources.
    • Contributing to the development and implementation of customized training to meet customers' specific needs.
    • Maintaining an "expert" knowledge level of the Welder and Boilermaker trade through continuous professional development and participation in special projects and assignments as delegated by Management.
    • Ensuring that training equipment is kept in good working order and appearance and in a ready to use state at all times.
    • Ensuring that a health and safety work ethic is instilled in learners in his/her care and ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Shukela Training Centre Safety Standards.

    The successful candidate must meet the following mandatory requirements:

    • A minimum of an N3 Certificate, or a relevant NQF 4 qualification and a successful completion of a National Trade test in the Welder and Boilermaker trade
    • A minimum of 3 years industry work experience post apprenticeship
    • Computer literacy in MS Office

    The following will be of added advantage:

    • Accreditation by the National Artisan Moderating Body (NAMB) as an Assessor
    • Previous experience as a Facilitator/Assessor/Moderator/Trainer
    • Effective communication
