    Group Resource Estimation Geologist

    Job Description

    • The Group Resource Estimation Geologist is responsible for the comprehensive management and oversight of the mineral resource estimation process.
    • This position ensures that all geological modelling, exploratory data analysis, geostatistical modelling, preparation of resource statements, and statutory or regulatory reporting are conducted to the highest standards, supporting the company’s business objectives and compliance requirements.  
    • The incumbent is expected to travel to various sites in the Northern Cape from time to time.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Honours degree in Geology, Geoscience, Mining Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
    • Professional registration with a recognised geological or mining institution (e.g., SACNASP, GSSA, AusIMM).

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 10 years experience in geology and/or exploration
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in geological modelling, mineral resource estimation and resource reporting within the mining sector,
    • Experience in simulation and stochastic methods is an advantage.
    • Experience in python scripting is an advantage.
    • Proven expertise in geostatistical methods, resource classification, and use of industry-standard software (e.g., Micromine, Datamine, Surpac, Vulcan, Leapfrog).
    • Strong understanding of international mineral resource reporting codes and regulatory frameworks, in particular JORC and SAMREC.
    • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

    Human Resources Manager

    Job Description

    • The HR Manager is responsible for leading the implementation and performance management of personnel, teams, and cultural initiatives within the PCZM project. This position is responsible for ensuring that all goals and objectives necessary for fostering high-performing individuals and teams are met in alignment with the Orion Way.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Tertiary qualification in HR Management equivalent at NQF 7.
    • Post graduate qualification would be advantageous.
    • Registration with a professional body would be advantageous (HPCSA/ SIOPSA/ SABPP etc)

    Experience:

    • 10 years’ experience in Human Resource Management roles
    • Demonstrated experience of at least 3 years as an HR Manager
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within mining, engineering construction or large-scale engineering construction projects are required

    General role responsibilities:

    • Implement HR strategies, policies, and programs aligned with mining operations, business objectives, and South African regulations (e.g., Mine Health and Safety Act).
    • Partner with mine leadership for workforce planning, succession, and growth.
    • Support Project Manager in developing HR Management Plan and final Project Execution Plan (PEP) presentation to Steering Committee.
    • Implement and manage recruitment, selection, onboarding, contracts, vendor relations, and attraction strategies for skilled mine workers (operators to specialists), including shift/remote needs.
    • Create and execute recruitment plan per project structure.
    • Implement performance systems (reviews, goals, coaching), training (safety, skills, certification), succession planning, and employee development.
    • Manage wellness programmes, engagement, disputes, grievances, exit interviews, and retention.
    • Ensure regulatory compliance (labour, health/safety); oversee HR data, reporting, audits, risk, appraisals, promotions, and terminations.
    • Implement/maintain HR personnel tracking system for Project Manager and corporate oversight.
    • Support supervisors/teams in high-performance strategies and Orion Way expectations.
    • Integrate human resource outputs with the work of other areas in the business while aligning with the Group HR policies and strategy.
