    Senior Electrician

    Overview

    • Currently we are looking for a Senior Electrician in Upington, Northerm Cape, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. 
    • As our Senior Electrician you will perform Electrical work on the Plant that will include Modification, Repair and Maintenance of Electrical Equipment and Systems as well as switching, isolation, earthing and LOTO duties as per Authorisation level.
    • You will be required to support to provide training and supervision to junior personnel and to be the Authorized Person on Duty (APD) when the Technical Manager is off site.

    Main responsibilities

    • Perform Electrical duities on the Plant: Work in the modification, technical troubleshoot, repair test and maintenance of all facility electrical equipment, systems, and network communication(s)
    • Complete routine safety documentation before every job including tailgate meetings, electrical work permits, etc.
    • Perform switching, isolation, safety test and earthing and LOTO duties as per Authorisation level of the organizational ORHVS and Plant Safety Regulations (PSR)

    • Perform OEM specific Preventative and Corrective Maintenance tasks on BESS, trackers, and all other PV electrical equipment to adhere to warranty requirements and industry best practices
    • Interpret schematics and blueprints
    • Quality assurance checklists and inspections to document deficiencies and identify corrective actions needed
    • Daily digital reporting and document on CMMS the maintenance activities of all facility electrical equipment, systems and spare parts
    • Control and perform monthly electrical equipment/instruments and tools inspections
    • Monitor and support the activities of Maintenance sub-contractor(s)
    • Assist in developing standard operating procedures and processes
    • Identify and provide feedback to issues and ongoing development of projects
    • Perform functions of Authorised Person and Responsible Person as per Plant requirements

    Qualifications and competencies 

    • N3 Qualification, Qualified Electrician and ORHVS qualification
    • Registered 3 phase installation electrician (SANS 10142); not single-phase tester
    • Computer literate – Excel & Word
    • 5+ years Electrical experience – AC & DC electrical systems
    • Solar PV Plant & BESS experience advantageous
    • Proven experience on MV & HV equipment troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance
    • Ability to take ownership of electrical systems on the plant
    • High Voltage Switching and Solar PV Plant experience
    • Supervision and training - Supervise, train junior personnel in associated duties and evaluate electrical staff
    • Maintain Transformers and Switchgear and Assist with reporting and perform various HSE related inspections
    • Experience with HV Switching, Solar PV Plant & BESS
    • Electrical knowledge (LV) and (HV)
    • Technical Support and Reporting
    • Operating System and Process Control
    • Non-conformances and claims management
    • Language: fluent both written and spoken in English

    Project (Cost) Controller (Release)

    Main purpose of position

    • Release is looking for a Project (Cost) Controller in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. 
    • Release by Scatec is in a phase of solid growth and is looking to strengthen the Release organisation with a Project Controller. This is a highly visible, challenging, hands-on, dynamic and wide-ranging role covering activities such as business partnering with non-finance teams to add value across multiple business units and projects, driving strategy and profitability across all areas, and supporting the Release Finance and Asset Management (“FAM”) function.
    • The position is a key resource in the Finance team and will report to the Release Business Controlling Manager. 

    Main responsibilities:

    • Controlling and reporting of costs and income on allocated Release projects (Actual vs. Budget vs. Latest Forecast)
    • Owning the preparation and processing of intercompany timesheet- and (project/non-project) cost invoicing in Microsoft Dynamics 365
    • Support with the determination and maintenance of Release corporate, project and employee cost rate masterdata in Microsoft Dynamics 365
    • Initiate and take the Release lead on projects related to the development, structure and improvement of Release’s management reporting processes, including system improvements and changes (Microsoft Dynamics 365, PowerBI, other relevant systems)
    • Define, design and implement internal project controlling and reporting processes and documentation of such process descriptions
    • Act as business partner to the financial accounting and reporting function on project-related matters impacting financial reporting compliance
    • Business partnering with different internal stakeholders outside of the Release finance function (Procurement and Logistics, Project Managers, Business Development team, etc.) on project and financing related matters
    • Act as liaison between Release and Scatec (South Africa) finance teams
    • Responsible for monthly allocated project and managerial reporting tasks
    • Support with the preparation of the Group annual budget
    • Interpreting data, both financial and non-financial, and understanding the impact of these on Release projects and business as a whole
    • Monitoring of monthly timesheet submissions and cost allocations

    Qualifications and competencies 

    • Master’s degree in finance, business or equivalent
    • 8-10 years relevant work experience, preferably from an international environment
    • Experience from Big Four audit companies is preferred
    • Ability to consolidate data from several sources for presentation, being able to efficiently process and evaluate large data volumes and propose actions based on findings
    • Ability to build strong networks and collaborate efficiently with functions outside of Finance. Support management and project team in making sound business decisions.
    • Quick learner with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Master Microsoft suite and business intelligence tools
    • Fluent in English written and verbally and French advantageous
    • Overall curiosity and ability to contribute to Finance areas such as Tax, Treasury, Accounting, Financial Reporting and Systems, Asset Management and other internal stakeholders
