    HSE Professional

    • The HSE SAEF department is responsible for preserving and promoting a professional level of safety in the workplace for employees, suppliers and clients.

    Responsibilities

    • Creation of local HSE documents (risk assessments, HSE plans, emergency response plans, customer-specific procedures, etc)
    • Follow up of contractors/subcontractors including mobilization/demobilization, post-work assessment and audits when needed
    • Perform HSE training (basic safety training as required by local regulations), including set up of training requirements according to local legislation
    • Responsible for providing expertise and support to Operations in incident and hazardous observation investigation and root cause analysis
    • Perform site visits and inspections
    • Actively support the development and realization of a "Zero Incident Culture".
    • Responsible for providing support and collaboration on HSE matters related to the country
    • Participation in tender processes (preparation of HSE documentation) and contract review from an Environmental, Health & Safety perspective
    • Assist with various tasks contributing to staff organization
    • Perform and follow up internal audits at Cluster and SBU levels
    • Develop and support the implementation of processes and procedures, including hearing processes

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 5 years of experience within EH&S in local and international work environment 
    • IOSH or NEBOSH certificate
    • In-depth knowledge of HSE standards and best practices, quality ISO standards, concepts, processes and procedures
    • Proficiency in contractor/subcontractor sustainability management, including mobilization/demobilization, pre-qualification requirements and post-work assessment
    • Expertise in hazard job site assessment/analysis/solution, risk assessments, incident investigation and root cause analysis
    • Experience in development/implementation of processes and procedures, including comprehensive HSE Plans
    • Familiarity with conducting inspections and audits
    • Knowledge of HSE Legislation
    • IRCA/CEPAS Lead auditor in ISO45001 and certification in ISO 14001 would be an added value
    • Tertiary certification is H&S would be advantageous 
    • Work at height expertise will be considered an added value

    Service Technician - Port Elizabeth

    Responsibilities 

    • Closely adhere to all safety standards and procedures. Act as a safety role model, encourage and recognize others completing safe acts, and intervene when unsafe acts are being practiced. Identify gaps in safety standards and safety risks in the operational environment, implement effective risk mitigation, and provide recommendations to higher-level technical staff and management.
    • Demonstrate and promote integrity, strong initiative, a no-compromise focus on safety, and quality of work on a continuous basis and may assist with or perform basic quality audits of less experienced staff. Perform intermediate level wind turbine maintenance and/or installation tasks as assigned, such as proficient operation and use of tools (including but not limited to specialized calibration, hydraulic, power tools) and basic turbine equipment. Document tasks where required and enters data into company system (e.g. SAP).
    • Effectively gather information regarding turbine performance / issues. May diagnose, recommend, and implement solutions up to intermediate routine issues. Seek assistance when encountering turbine issues outside trained skill level to ensure success in resolution.
    • Follow basic structured problem-solving process to complete troubleshooting and diagnostic tasks to include the use of diagnostic tools (e.g. basic fluke meter functions, hydraulic pressure gauge) and independently initiate and perform most work tasks, as well as follow defined instructions and maintenance schedules, executing plans as directed, and perform according to written and verbal instruction from higher-level technical staff.
    • Effectively promote strong team environment by assisting teammates in accomplishing goals and mentoring lower level technical staff. Visibly support and promote change initiatives and team spirit and cooperation as well as proactively look for improvement opportunities to job appropriate processes and procedures and communicate through appropriate channels or implement improvements using the appropriate control management protocol.
    • Interface with customer and may respond to customer inquiries. Refer complex customer inquiries to higher-level technical staff or manager. Demonstrate strong customer focus at all times.

    Qualifications

    • Tertiary diploma or equivalent and a minimum one (1) year technical wind industry experience, OR six (6) months technical wind industry experience and a certificate of completion from a Wind Technician program, OR in absence of technical wind industry experience, minimum three (3) years' experience working with hydraulic, electrical, mechanical skills and/or composite skills.
    • Trade tested - Mechanical or electrical Demonstrated use and understanding of intermediate level power tools such as hydraulic, power torque and diagnostic tools (e.g. fluke meter functions and hydraulic pressure gauge)
    • Ability to demonstrate an intermediate working knowledge of industrial safety practices / protocols (e.g. Confined Space, energy isolation)
    • Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a Passport
    • Strong attention to detail and execution excellence and good interpersonal and customer relation skills as well as the ability to effectively collaborate with employees at all professional levels and ability to respectfully follow supervision and support initiatives
    • Basic computer operation skills, familiarity with internet-based program navigation, and ability to generate and interpret computer data and ability to read, interpret and understand drawings and schematics to validate work activity and ensure that risks are identified and mitigated.

    Competencies

    • Ability to constantly climb stairs and ladders 60-125 meters in height, in order to access work area as well as the ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 30 Kg in weight
    • Ability to frequently walk, stand, look up/down, balance, stoop, twist, kneel, and bend and the ability to constantly grip and manually manipulate, often with repetitive motion, items such as, but not limited to, hand tools and turbine parts
    • Comfort constantly working in confined spaces and at heights over 100 meters
    • Ability to speak, read, comprehend, and write in English as well as the ability to successfully participate in all training courses, including controlled decent
    • Ability to hear and see, including the ability to perceive depth and distinguish colours, sufficient to perform job functions and use close range radios and also able to work in demanding physical and inclement weather conditions
    • Comfort working remotely in a Turbine as part of a team with limited supervisory interaction
    • Ability to work in a respirator, including passing a respirator medical evaluation and fitness test.

    Project Engineer

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for Project Technical support with different areas, drawings interpretation and revisions; and co-responsible, along Project Manager and Site Manager, for corporate obligations in terms of safety, health and environment
    • Coordinate all the administrative aspects of the project such as: forecasting cash inflows and outflows monthly with input from the Project Manager; project reporting and analytics, forecasting of time progress, financial performance and presentation preparation of each project with transparency, reliability and accuracy; responsible for project reporting and analytics, forecasting of time progress and presentation preparation
    • Support the Project Manager on the project execution, based on the contract requirements regarding documentation, local legislation, and the fulfillment of safety and environment procedures, from awareness to auditing process to guarantee service level agreements and compliance with regulations and company standards
    • Working towards project goals alongside with Project Manager to ensure the key priorities for each project including profitability, cash flow and time
    • Support Project Manager with establishing action and recovery plans to ensure compliance with internal targets and according to customer/contract. Perform risk and opportunities assessment within the projects, including strategies, action plans and follow-up
    • Maintain billing plan and ensure accuracy
    • Secure customer relationships, leading to increased customer satisfaction. Co-represent the organization towards Customers and Subcontractors' project management in project-related correspondence, meetings, negotiations, while ensuring that project communication is adequately handled internally and externally
    • Implement Vestas project management and site installation processes and procedures and provide support in the tendering phase - cost build-up, risk assessment responsibility matrix review 

    Qualifications

    • Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil
    • At least 3 years of experience in project management teams and construction, preferably acquired in the wind industry or the energy sector
    • Strong proficiency in spoken and written English
    • Microsoft Office package proficiency
    • Master's in project management or MBA will be also welcomed
    • Experience in installation (experience in EPC contracts is an asset)
    • International experience will be a differential
    • Contractual knowledge will be appreciated
    • SAP and AUTOCAD proficiency is beneficial

    Customer Engagement & Service Contract Engineer

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers; leverages relationships to ensure renewals of Service contracts
    • Define common strategy in customer relationship management (together with Area Supervisor)
    • Develop new business opportunities (value-added services) and actively pursue recapture opportunities for lost accounts
    • Prepare Time & Material quotations and ensure backlog increase with this type of sale
    • Assist the commercial department in the negotiation of new Service Contracts, amendments and service quotations (from the beginning of the process)
    • Assist with answering contractual questions from Customers, Sales Department and Area Supervisors
    • Deal with technical open cases resolution process (proactive communication, regular meetings, close collaboration with Product Support Dpt., etc.)
    • Control project bonus and penalties (incentive; variable price)
    • Prepare the Monthly Windfarms Reports for the customer and upload them to the customer portal
    • Invoice all customers and ensure updated billing plan in the ERP system

    Qualifications

    • Engineer or Business Administration graduate

    • Electrical, renewables, mechanical knowledge will be considered
    • Wind turbine, energy or aircraft industry experience will be considered
