    Junior Software Developer

    Key Responsibility Areas 

    • Under supervision design and develop integrated Technical Service Specifications for single or multiple software; 
    • Under supervision develop software or customize software which includes the full life cycle management of the solution to ensure standardisation which will enable the delivery of a high-quality solution and products for improved service delivery; 
    • Conduct code reviews; 
    • Under supervision coordinate software IT solutions implementations so as to meet service delivery commitments and to ensure specifications and standards are met; and 
    • Maintain the integrated IT software components systems once they are up and running. 

    Qualifications and Experience 

    • Minimum: 3-year Diploma / Degree in ICT (Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology and Engineering) or related field. 
    • Experience: 2 - 3 years’ experience within software development field, within systems development, implementation and maintenance / enhancements of solutions in the corporate/public sector organisation. The experience must include: Experience within software development and Experience in data management.

    Senior Software Developer (JAVA) X3

    Key Responsibility Areas 

    • Lead the design and development of new features for the software systems, and improvement of the existing ones; 
    • Implementation, debugging, documentation and release of the software solutions; 
    • Provide maintenance and enhancement support of the existing systems; 
    • Perform software systems coding assignments; and 
    • Supervision of the Software development team. 

    Qualifications and Experience 

    Minimum:

    • 3 years National Higher Diploma/ bachelor’s degree in ICT (Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology and Engineering) or related field. 

    Experience:

    •  6 -7 years' experience working as a Full stack JAVA software developer within a large corporate/public sector organisation. Experience in leading the delivery of software development solution working in collaboration with other disciplines.
    • A solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SLDC) and Agile methodology.
    • Experience in Spring/Spring Boot and JAVA EE related frameworks, use of frontend technologies (Angular), ORM Tools (JPA, Spring Data, Hibernate), Integration technologies and Relational databases (Oracle, MySQL etc.).
    • The candidate must have successfully developed and implemented applications and provided leadership within the project. Extensive experience with a wide variety of database management systems.
    • Extensive experience with a wide variety of programming languages and technologies. Extensive experience with working on multiple tasks and report status. Experience in interacting with customers.

    Advanced Software Developer

    Key Responsibility Area 

    • Lead the development of functional requirements that articulate clear and concise project deliverables that are compatible with user expectations. 
    • Deliver feasibility and cost-benefit analysis, including choice of application architecture to enhance the overall application development process. 
    • Lead, and execute complex software development and customization projects spanning multiple environments to ensure that it is successfully delivered. 
    • Lead, and develop/ customize complex applications services solutions by studying information needs; consulting with clients, studying systems flow, data usage and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle using SITAs software development stack/ development framework. 
    • Lead and execute maintenance of integrated IT software components using SITAs software development stack/ development framework. 

    Qualifications and Experience 

    • Minimum: 3 – 4 Year National Higher Diploma / National Degree in Software Engineering/ Computer Science /Information Technology or relevant qualification equivalent to NQF Level 6. 
    • Certification: Vendor certification for Java will be an added advantage. 
    • Experience: 7 years’ experience with full software development lifecycle (SLDC), including solution development, operational responsibility in a large corporate/public sector organisation.
    • The experience must include. Good solid programming Skills and understanding of the Java language, Eclipse IDE, Spring MVC framework and  Oracle database is essential and required.

    Specialist: Configuration Management

    Key Responsibility Areas 

    • Implementation of ITIL Life Cycle stage (Service Transition) relevant to Service Asset and Configuration Management for services provides to government thereby ensuring that risks to services as a result of IT changes are effectively managed in order to provide excellent service delivery. 
    • Define and implement specifications for the CMDB (Configuration Management Database). 
    • Receive change information and update the CMDB. 
    • Plan and Manage Configuration Management audits. 
    • Manage Configuration status accounting.  

    Qualifications and Experience 

    • Minimum: 3-Year Diploma / Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology / NQF level 6 
    • Experience: 3 – 5 years’ experience in Service Management principles related to Service Asset and Configuration Management good practice methodologies, including: Experience in implementation and application of Service Asset and Configuration Management process and supporting technologies (ITIL, Cobit, ISO). Experience of working in a team and involvement in project management delivery concepts. Experience in dealing with customers.
