    Executive Assistant

    Purpose:

    • Manages various aspects of work in the Office of the CEO and provides professional administrative support.

    Main Duties:

    • Administering all correspondence, documents and reports
    • Managing the diary and public interface of the CEO
    • Plans and executes social functions as required by the CEO
    • Liaising with clients (internal and external) as required by the CEO
    • Assisting to coordinate certain Public Relations functions as required by the CEO
    • Ensures that a database of key stakeholders is created and maintained
    • Ensures that key stakeholders are advised of any matters requiring urgent attention
    • Responsible for projects / events management as required by the CEO
    • Analyses business performance and related statistics for inclusion in consolidated reports
    • Researches, compiles and formats information into spreadsheets
    • Responds to executive requests for documentation and information relating to analysis and reporting
    • Ensures that information systems are in place to access/record new information
    • Attends strategic / stakeholder meetings on behalf of CEO

    Educational Requirements

    • Matric (Grade 12)
    • Relevant Tertiary qualification
    • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience
    • The successful candidate would be computer literate especially in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

    • The candidate will possess exceptional communication skills with the correct writing style for various situations
    • The ideal candidate is a conceptual and analytical thinker who can take the initiative in building partnerships

    Electrician

    Purpose: 
    Installs, maintains, repairs electrical wiring and industrial machinery. Ensures compliance to relevant regulations.

    Main Duties:

    • Carries out inspections as per maintenance plan
    • Ensures workshop tools and assets are maintained within agreed standards
    • Determines spare parts, material requirements and any special equipment necessary to complete work order
    • Checks that the equipment is working in accordance with the designers plan
    • Conducts test to diagnose and determine the cause of equipment breakdown
    • Tests circuits and functionality of new components
    • Conduct root case analysis in case of machinery failure
    • Service and repairs lighting equipment
    • Ensures compliance to SHE regulations, policies and practices
    • Tests emergency equipment
    • Installs electrical circuitry
    • Tests circuits and functionality of new components
    • Performs routine electrical tasks
    • Designs layout for integrated circuits, according to engineering specifications
    • Tests all equipment for productions
    • Completes log books, time sheets and related documents

    Educational Requirements

    • Standard 10 (Grade 12) / N3 or equivalent.
    • 5 years relevant experience
    • Computer literate
    • Must be in possession of a Installation Electrical Certificate (Wireman’s License)

    Further Requirements

    • Documented experience within the above mentioned field.
    • Working on and programming of PLC’s will be a good advantage
    • The candidate must be flexible and prepared to work overtime when required.
    • Possess a valid code 8 drivers license

    Production Manager

    Purpose:

    • Plans, co-ordinates all production activity and supervises a team of experienced theatre technicians

    Main Duties:
    Schedule

    • Create production schedules
    • Monitor and minimize overtime

    Managing production personnel

    • supervise production personnel, in consultation with the Director Operations when appropriate

    Production Liaison

    • Attend production meetings.
    • Facilitate clear communication throughout the production process

    Production Support

    • Work closely with directors and designers to ensure that all production requirements are met
    • Assist production with hands-on projects including (but not limited to) special effects, video and projections, , sourcing and researching materials and techniques
    • Organise and supervise load-in, set ups, change overs, strikes and load out
    • Ensure smooth changes of rehearsal and performances

    Health & Safety

    • Ensure compliance to Health and Safety regulations
    • Address safety hazards

    Facility Management

    • Responsible for the general up keeping of the stage areas
    • Ensure the safe keeping and handling of equipment

    Educational & Experience Requirements

    • Matric Certificate
    • Thorough knowledge of all areas of theatrical production including lighting and sound
    • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel

    Mechanical Technician

    Purpose: 

    • Responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment.

    Main Duties:

    • Conducts maintenance and repairs on all mechanical equipment
    • Conducts root cause analysis in case of machinery failure
    • Conducts tests to diagnose and determine the cause of equipment breakdown
    • Isolates, removes and replaces defective components
    • Sets up and operates various machines/equipment to produce fabricated items
    • Fabricates and / or modifies parts
    • Ensures compliance with current health and safety legislation
    • Conducts safety checks
    • Operates equipment and stage machinery
    • Carries out inspection as per maintenance plan
    • Ensures workshop tools and assets are maintained within agreed standards
    • Performs general administration

    Educational & Experience Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent relevant work experience
    • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: completed a recognized apprenticeship (Fitter & Turner)
    • A minimum of 4 - 6 years’ experience as a mechanical technician

    Further Requirements

    • The candidate must be able to operate equipment and various stage machinery
    • The candidate should have welding experience
    • Possess a valid code 8 driver’s license
    • The candidate must be able to use his/her initiative and a problem solving ability

    Stage Manager

    Purpose: 

    • To perform all stage management tasks.

    Main Duties:

    • Mark the rehearsal room floor as per designer ground plan
    • Ensures the smooth running of productions in area of specialised skill
    • Studies videos, scripts, scores and cd’s as appropriate to the production
    • Ensures that props and rehearsal costumes are available as required
    • Ensures compliance to all Health & Safety regulations in areas of specialised skill
    • Ensures that the technical crew have full knowledge of scene changes
    • Keeps the Director informed about any existing or potential problems
    • Liaises with the set designer, lighting designer and directors to ensure the smooth running of rehearsals
    • Keep records of each production and completes performance reports
    • Regulates rehearsal schedules in accordance with Artscape policy
    • Checks that scenes are set up and that scene changes are made
    • Calls cues and ensures that they are carried out
    • Educational Requirements
    • The candidate must be matriculated
    • Computer literacy (MS Word / Excel)

    Further Requirements

    • 5 years’ experience as a stage manager
    • The candidate must be flexible and prepared to work overtime when required
    • Knowledge of basic first aid would be to your advantage
    • Music literacy would be advantageous

    Marketing Administrator

    Purpose: 

    • Provides administrative support to the Marketing sub-unit and ensures compliance with relevant company policies and procedures

    Main Duties:

    • Assist with managing social media channels
    • Assist with updating information on Artscape’s website
    • Maintains Artscape’s electronic photo archives
    • Assist with newspaper advertisement bookings with various newspaper houses
    • Design of in-house invitations, posters, publicity material
    • Collates all artwork/imagery for the Artscape events calendar and supplies to
    • Organizes collection and delivery of print materials
    • Ensures that all print materials are distributed by an outsourced company
    • Assist with video and photography for various events

    Educational & Experience Requirements

    • Matric Certificate
    • Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing / Advertising
    • Knowledge of Adobe (or similar) creative suite is required
    • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience

    Project Managers

    Purpose: 

    • Plans, executes and controls activities for allocated projects. It is important to note that the projects means theatre stage productions and related events such as book launches and workshops

    Main Duties:

    • Develops and prepares a Logistics Plan for projects
    • Attends all relevant project meetings
    • Ensures that project logistic requirements are met
    • Ensures the project marketing plan is executed
    • Ensures all participants are briefed regarding project timeframes
    • Ensures that all vendors are in place for the project
    • Executes all elements of project workplan
    • Logs all project risks in Risk Register and places on project meeting agenda
    • Ensures that all changes to scope of project are approved and implements changes
    • Checks issue register and follows up on any outstanding issues
    • Manages the closure of each projects
    • Completes project debriefing documentation

    Educational & Experience Requirements

    • Matric
    • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience
    • Extensive relevant experience in management of theatre productions and/or events
    • The candidate must be computer literate especially in MS Word and Microsoft Excel,

    Further Requirements

    • Excellent organizing skills
    • Must be pro-active and have a problem solving ability

    Social Media Specialist

    Purpose: 

    • To co-ordinate, populate and project manage social media content for all productions and events taking place at Artscape. This will include, but not limited to, capturing footage of production rehearsals, workshops, launch events, opening nights, participant vox pops,etc.

    Main Duties:

    • Works with the marketing team to develop a social media plan and implements the plan
    • Manages the social media channels and social media platforms
    • Assist with social media management with large projects, events and community engagement
    • Assist with creation of new content for audience interaction
    • Compile content for the copy on social media platforms
    • Re-design graphics and images for social media platforms
    • Edit text to synopsis requirement
    • Retrieve respective reports to assist with performance measurements across various social media channels

    Educational & Experience Requirements

    • Matric Certificate
    • Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing / Advertising / Graphic Design / Design
    • Relevant experience in managing social media channels
    • Knowledge of Adobe (or similar) creative suite is an advantage
    • Knowledge of imagery and video content manipulation like GIFs, editing and sound insertion would be advantageous
    • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience

    Supply Chain Management Practitioner

    Purpose:

    •  Ensures compliance to company procurement policy and procedures and assists in the execution of the compliance function.

    Main Duties:

    • Assist with the procurement of specialized good or services over 100K
    • Review of deviations and assist end users with compiling of deviations
    • Compilation of BBBEE and pricing score sheets
    • Assist new suppliers to register on the CSD as per self help guide.
    • Capture purchase orders

    • Provide feedback to end users on contract value spent

    Educational Requirements

    • Matric (Grade 12)
    • National Diploma in Supply Chain Management / Public Management

    Further Requirements

    • Must be computer literate in MS EXCEL and MS Word
    • 3 years’ experience in a highly complex office environment
