    Project Manager

    Job Description    

    • To provide engineering, projects-based solutions to address business requirements
    • To manage and oversee the delivery of engineering and/or maintenance projects.

    Required outputs: functional

    • Perform project scoping, define project tasks, goals and deliverables
    • Assemble and coordinate project staff
    • Lead the planning and implementation of the project
    • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end
    • Define projects success criteria and disseminate them to involve parties throughout project life cycle.
    • Manage customer expectations
    • Oversee project evaluations and assessment of results
    • Support continual business improvement and change management
    • Comply with governance and established policies, systems, procedures and practices
    • Comply with Safety, Health and Environment standards

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • BSc, B Tech Degree, Higher National Diploma in Engineering or engineering qualification with proven experience in management of projects

    • In-depth knowledge of project management in a multi-disciplinary environment
    • Sound knowledge of engineering principles and standards
    • Sound knowledge and understanding of managing performance within a project environment

    Project Manager - Engineering

    Job Description    

    • The Project Manager applies professional principles, practices, and techniques to develop and direct project schedules to ensure satisfactory completion of projects (within time, budget, and quality).
    • This role has full responsibility across all assigned projects and manages stakeholder satisfaction, definition, planning, monitoring, and other aspects of these projects.

    Required outputs: functional

    • Resource allocation and monitoring across all projects to ensure maximum efficiency of applied resources within all projects that are in execution.
    • Advise and guide the initiation of new projects through the completion and approval of the relevant feasibility studies.
    • Follow DetNet policies, procedures, and project flow process according to DetNet processes, ensuring all gate requirements are met.
    • Continuous improvement – monitor the execution of projects through the DetNet Design Process on an ongoing basis, identifying possible areas of improvement and manage the implementation of the agreed-upon improvements.
    • Responsible for the entire project journey from requirements/feasibility (Phase 0) concept through to handover to channel partner/customer or supplier.
    • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables to ensure the entire project team thoroughly understands the objectives and deliverables.
    • Manage and lead, through a collaborative process with project stakeholders and resources, the planning and implementation of projects.
    • Manage the verification and approval of external resource timesheets and expenses, and sign-off of subcontractors’ invoices and payments.
    • Liaise closely with the management team of external contractors/development teams to ensure project goals are achieved.

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent accreditation (PMP/Prince2).
    • 5 years’ experience in project management or project lead role.
    • Project management experience in electronic product design and development would be advantageous.
    • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management (Waterfall/Agile/Hybrid)
    • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
    • Project management system knowledge (SciForma/Jira/Monday.com/MS Projects/Ect)
    • Able to delegate and manage work assignments to appropriate resources.
    • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.

    SHEQ Officer

    Job Description    

    • To continually monitor and adapt change or intervention technologies to improve SHEQ behaviour, attitudes and skills and enhance line SHEQ roles.
    • To interpret and apply all legal requirements through the development and maintenance of systems and procedures and partake in all investigations relating to the function; responsible for the monitoring of all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality issues and advise on corrective action where necessary i.e. the disposal of waste and remediation.
    • To facilitate the process of Hazop studies (Risk Assessments) ensuring the elimination and mitigation of SHEQ and subsequent site risks.
    • To participate with line management activities with reference to the company SHEQ manual standards (incl. LSB & CSB) and the adherence thereto.
    • To advise and assist in the identification and implementation of corrective actions relating non-compliance legal and company standards.
    • To assist line management in compiling SHEQ related training schedules and to provide or arrange for the provision of the identified training. This would relate to for example, clearance training, advanced driver training, environmental awareness training. Also to ensure that hard copy and systems records of such training are maintained.
    • Develops safety programs /campaigns that will enhance a positive safety culture among the entire workforce.
    • Maintain SHEQ Management system (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001) certifications through conducting departmental internal audits and ensuring that all findings are addressed.
    • Coordinates and leads the incident investigations for all sites internal and customer related incidents, ensuring that root causes are identified and corrected to prevent recurrence.
    • Reports monthly the company performance in relation to safety, health, environment and quality.
    • Implements efficient document control to ensure that only valid documents are utilized across the whole organization.
    • Ensures that all applicable occupational hygiene surveys are conducted to safeguard the safety and health of all employees.
    • Works with contractors and service providers and maintain the contractor management processes.
    • Responsible for ensuring that all legal appointments are in place that the company complies with all relevant SHE regulations.
    • Conduct site and over inspection as per required, critical control verifications and behaviour-based observations.

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Grade 12.
    • Safety Management Diploma or NQF equivalent.
    • At least 3-5 years relevant experience within explosives and underground mining environment.
    • The incumbent should be fully conversant with OHS Act, Explosives Act as well as any other SHE legislation and amendments to current legislation and requires a good understanding of Company as well as Explosive/OHS Act regulations, standards and procedures, and other relevant legislative requirements i.e. Mines Health and Safety Act, Water Act, Environmental Act.
    • The incumbent would require a sound working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
    • The incumbent would require a sound working knowledge of incident investigation, root cause analyses, facilitation and key learnings on any level of incidents. 
    • The incumbent needs to be proficient in the technical / mechanical aspects of underground mobile equipment. 
    • Knowledge of Risk Management, be able to conduct risk analysis and recommend preventative controls. 
    • Must be fully computer literate MS Office and would need to be possesses excellent presentation skills. (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/MS Teams)
    • SHEQ inspection, Audit and corrective action plan report writing experience and skill. 
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Must be able to pass police clearance.
    • Must be able to obtain an underground red ticket, (medical fitness) to visit underground mining sites

    Security and Emergency Services Communications Officer

    Job Description    

    • Upkeep of SES Stakeholder (internal emergency teams/structures, saps, fire department, hospitals) information on the applicable platforms/domains (Outlook, SMS, WhatsApp)
    • Update and revise all control room and communication documents, systems, processes and templates (SDS’s, contact information, checklists, posting sheets, site maps, operating procedures)
    • Maintain the relevance and functionality of all audio, video, communication and notification systems (alarms, CCTV, SMS, radio GPS) contacting the relevant parties in time to do repairs when the systems are off
    • Comprehensive and accurate recording of all audio, video, communication and notification information (sending out the correct information on the SMS system, telephone information to be correct and the information recorded in the OB to always be clear professional)
    • Timely initiation of the appropriate notification and response protocols (When to send what and how, not to confuse the reader or supply information not needed to act)

    Qualifications & Experience    

    • Diploma in Security, Fire, Risk or equivalent
    • 3 - 5 years’ communication / control room / call centre experience
    • At least a Grade B PSIRA
