    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    • The purpose of a Stock Clerk is to ensure accurate stock records by conducting random checks and reconciling stock movements, identifying discrepancies, investigating queries, and maintaining the integrity of stock information.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensuring that the stock movements recorded in the system, such as purchase orders (POs), transfers in and out, invoices, credits, and write-offs, are accurately matched and aligned with the corresponding documentation.
    • Verifying and reconciling the stock movements recorded in the system with the actual gate activity, ensuring that the goods received, dispatched, or returned align with the recorded transactions.
    • Reviewing and comparing the stock movements recorded in the system with the camera footage, to validate the accuracy and integrity of the recorded transactions and identify any discrepancies or irregularities.
    • Identifying and investigating any discrepancies or inconsistencies between the system records, documentation, gate activity, and camera footage, conducting root cause analysis, and taking necessary actions to resolve and reconcile the discrepancies.
    • Documenting and maintaining detailed records of the reconciliation process, including findings, resolutions, and any necessary adjustments or corrections made to ensure accurate and up-to-date stock records.
    • Working closely with other teams, such as purchasing, warehouse operations, and finance, to address and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to stock movements, ensuring alignment and accuracy across departments.
    • Reviewing and rectifying any discrepancies or errors in invoices related to stock, ensuring accurate invoicing and financial reconciliation. Communicating all invoice corrections to relevant stakeholders in order to drive invoice corrections down. Enable the delivery of correction invoices to customers.
    • Maintain a missing and unsigned invoice register and ensure the timeous obtaining of POD's that do not meet the necessary requirements.
    • Update records accordingly.
    • Managing stock adjustments for various reasons, such as stock age, damages, or discrepancies identified during counts, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to established procedures.
    • Conducting stock recounts as necessary to validate and correct any discrepancies or inaccuracies identified during the reconciliation process, ensuring accurate stock records and inventory control.
    • Identifying and rectifying any errors or inconsistencies in stock reconciliations, ensuring accurate alignment between physical stock counts and system records.
    • Effectively communicating any stock adjustments, corrections, or discrepancies to relevant stakeholders, such as warehouse teams, inventory control, and management, to ensure proper understanding and resolution.
    • Generating comprehensive reports of all outbound movements based on camera footage, ensuring accurate and detailed records of stock activities.
    • Investigating and resolving queries or discrepancies by cross-referencing camera footage with stock movement records, providing evidence and verification to support findings and conclusions.
    • Performing random checks of full loads using camera footage, ensuring adherence to loading instructions, verifying accuracy, and identifying any potential issues or discrepancies.
    • Managing and organizing camera footage, ensuring easy retrieval and access for reconciliation purposes, query resolutions, or auditing requirements.

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    • The Butchery Production Controller ’s responsibilities will include oversee daily production, manage production processes, utilise butchery equipment, ensure orders are completed, and day to day production employee issues.
    • Ensure the correct daily production functions are met, including meat carcass breaking, bandsaw cutting, quality inspections, use of meat grinders, knives and other tools to cut meat down into smaller portions, weighing, pricing, and dispatching orders.
    • Training and monitoring the production team on use of production equipment to ensure the team are well trained on all equipment.
    • You will also speak to store personnel to determine their needs, provide advice regarding proper cuts of meat and preparation methods, and coordinate pickups or deliveries.

    Requirements

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepare and break various meat carcasses according to laid down specifications.
    • Cutting or portioning using a bandsaw or knife.
    • Mincing and Sausage filling with meat grinding machines, mixer machines and filler machines
    • Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
    • Weighing, packaging, pricing of meat orders. 
    • Training of team members on the production equipment.
    • Report any defective equipment/utensils to the Regional Production Manager
    • Monitor/maintain the cold chain of product, working areas and storage areas
    • Oversee the receiving of meat from suppliers.
    • Assist with training team members on various new products / lines.
    • Ensures that cleaning and housekeeping standards on equipment and work areas are maintained according to laid down standards and norms. 
    • Wear the correct PPE in accordance with the company policy and procedures
    • No interference or abuse of any health, safety and environmental welfare equipment.
    • Be actively involved in the OHS and Food Safety System, participate in OHS and Food Safety System activities as and when directed
    • Oversee inventory control. Ensuring FIFO, report and minimise stock losses.
    • Maintain full traceability of products throughout the production process.
    • Manage production team time and attendance

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
    • Knowledge of meat preparation techniques, cuts and equipment.
    • Proven experience of at least 3 years in similar positions, with a preference for experience within the FMCG Retail industry.

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    • The purpose of the Junior Buyer is to provide support to the Category Buyer in maintaining a sustainable base of strategic suppliers to ensure we are committed to Econofoods participation in the Grocery category.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Strategic support to the category buyer in the selection, management, communications, and ongoing relationship management of suppliers within the GROCERIES CATEGORY.
    • Support structure to Category Buyer to ensure we manage and develop a national supply base of suppliers meeting specified criteria

    • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field (advantageous).
    • Proven 2+ years of experience in a Junior Buyer role, experience in procurement, supply chain, or related field.
    • Preference will be given for store operations, category knowledge, buying, and/or category management will be an advantage.

    Loading Supervisor (Port Elizabeth)

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    • The purpose of Loading Supervisor is to coordinate loading activities, manage warehouse operators, and ensure load stabilization.
