SLOT ALLOCATION –
- Receiving and analyzing the requirements for slot booking from aircraft operators. Checking availability and allocation of slots. Ensuring equity when allocating slots to all aircraft operators. Advising clients with approvals / non approvals / offers / additional requirements for slot bookings.
- Keeping record of all received and approved / non approvals / offered requests. Submission of Daily slot sheets to ATC Centers and aircraft operators. Ensuring that deadlines are adhered to as laid down by IATA Scheduling Calendar. Attending IATA slot conference to interact with airline scheduling management and coordinating slots.
- Ensuring new entrants are accommodated equitably and fairly. Ensuring slots are allocated in accordance with IATA guidelines. Ensuring slots are allocated fairly and equitably even when IATA guidelines cannot be used. Maintaining “wait list” for aircraft operators. Continually seeking to find slot improvements for aircraft operators.
- Negotiating with aircraft operators to swap slots with each other. Meeting with operators to discuss/finalize schedule, etc. Maintaining / Upgrading Score Software. Managing OCS. Tracking, filing, archiving e-mails – operator’s queries and requests, general correspondence. Building, maintain and update constraints for various airports – Pax, runway and parking. Managing various projects where Slot Coordinators are required, e.g. SWC
SLOT COMPLIANCE AND DATA COLLECTION -
- Carrying out slot compliance on all 3 coordinated airports on a monthly basis. Completing 80/20 rule compliance. Advising aircraft operators of historic slots and negotiating discrepancies. Analysis of Slot booking requests.
- Analysis of Slot utilizations for all Coordinated Airports. Analysis of Slot occupancy per operator.
- Carrying out additional statistical gathering analysis as required from time to time. Slot information is correlated to RPL and Schedules as published by Airlines. Providing Airlines slot information to the relevant RPL officer / specialist

Departmental and SHE System Administration -
- Provide administrative services to the SHE unit in accordance with SHE policies and processes. Perform the admin requirements relating to SHE ISO systems. Perform general administration for the SHE unit include filing, data entry, typing and assisting in the management of communications, paperwork and diary management.

Collate and present operational SHE metrics such as waste, water, incident stats, energy etc. ensuring data confidence (accuracy and consistency).
- Assist in acquiring and maintaining environmental management system accreditation and occupational health and safety management system. Support the integration with other standards such as Quality management and Occupational health and safety management systems.
- Promote SHEQ awareness and communication through conducting training and education across business units and levels of the business and contractors as well as maintaining control and training registers for key internal stakeholders (SHE reps, Fire wardens, Evacuation reps. etc.). Contribute to the identification of SHE-related training needs for respective corporate competency training needs analysis.
SHE Incident Reporting and Investigation -
- Ensuring the effective management of injuries and occupational diseases through efficient diagnostic processes, disease reporting, recording and investigations, Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA Act) processes management.
- Provide SHE incident management awareness training to employees. Investigate OHS accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.
- Investigating and reporting environmental incidents for the sites and projects, including following up on recommendations timeously.
- Follow up on incident and accident investigation recommendation for sites. Conduct training and presentations for SHE incident and accident prevention.
- Contractor management - Evaluate/assess contractor’s SHE files as per Construction regulations. Conduct SHE induction for contractors on site. Audit contractors on site. Ensure / enforce contractors’ SHE compliance.
- Hazards Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) - Develop workplace baseline risk assessment. Reviewing the physical and activity-based risk assessments on a continuous basis.
Reporting and Engagement -
- Collaborate with local internal and external stakeholders in the implementation of safety, health and environmental programmes.
- Ensure regional documents and records are created, updated and controlled in accordance with approved processes. Analyse occupational health, safety and environmental data to identify trends and make recommendations
- Report to the SHE unit on occupational health and safety and environmental performance on parameters namely Water, Waste, Energy, Carbon Emissions, noise management, and health and safety performance metrics.
- Contribute to the SHE input for corporate sustainability reports and programme reporting. Continuously update environmental templates, forms and reporting systems to enable efficiency in responding to environmental matters and to support decision making. Participate in working groups and cross functional teams where applicable. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports.
- Ensure alignment and management of programmes to budget and time requirements. Identify areas for continuous improvement
Minimum requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or National diploma in Environmental sciences/management/health, equivalent qualification in Safety Management, Environmental Management or related field.
- Valid RSA driver’s license code 08.
Advantageous
SAMTRAC or NEBOSH certificate.
- ISO 14001:2015 and/or ISO 45001:2018 certificate and related auditing certification.
- Aviation Safety Management System Course.
- SACPCMP registered.
- SAIOSH registered
Experience
- Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in occupational health and safety, environment management or aviation safety management.
- Experience/knowledge in implementing Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2015)/ Occupational Health and Safety (45001:2018) and or Safety Management System (SMS).
- Understanding of the environmental issues, OHS issues and aviation safety-related issues.
OR:
Minimum Qualifications
Air traffic control qualification or engineering qualification.
- SAMTRAC or NEBOSH certificate (advantageous)
- ISO 14001:2015 and/or ISO 45001:2018 certificate and related auditing certification (advantageous)
- Aviation Safety Management System Course
Experience
- Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in air traffic management or engineering experience.
- Experience/knowledge in implementing Environmental Management System implementation (ISO 14001:2015)/ Occupational Health and Safety (45001:2018) and or Safety Management System (SMS).
- Understanding of the OHS, Aviation and Environmental compliance requirements.
