    Human Resources Graduate (Gauteng)

    PURPOSE

    • This exciting position exists to support the HR department with a broad range of administrative, operational, and developmental tasks. The role provides exposure to the full HR value chain, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training and development, performance management, HR reporting, and compliance.
    • The HR Graduate will also gain insight into HR systems, labour legislation, policy development, and employee engagement initiatives, laying a foundation for a future career in Human Resources.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Recruitment and Onboarding

    • Ensure up to date organograms for each site.
    • Ensure up to date workforce plans and vacancy list per country.
    • Assist with job postings and screening resumes.
    • Coordinate and participate in interviews.
    • Onboard new employees and ensure a smooth transition.
    • Update the recruitment needs and applications in Direct Hire.

    Organisational Development

    • Assist with employee wellness initiatives.
    • Identity corporate social investment opportunities in each country.
    • Assessment of organisational culture (exit interviews, post-engagement interviews and climate surveys).

    Training and Development

    • Ensure an updated training plan per country.
    • Ensure a personal development plan per employee that forms part of the talent management programme.
    • Update 9 box matrix with identified successors for critical roles.

    Performance Management

    • Ensure each employee has a performance scorecard / contract.
    • Ensure each employee has an annual performance review.

    Administration

    • Ensure the collation of accurate monthly reports.
    • Conduct HR compliance audits.
    • Update HR records in Sage.
    • Assist with the communication of HR policies.
    • Participate in HR system implementation (time and attendance, overtime app, FAWOW and Connect Hub).

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Honors degree in Human Resource Management.

    EXPERIENCE

    • A minimum of 1-year of relevant experience would be advantageous.

    Superintendent (Limpopo)

    Description

    • This position exists to perform a technical and supervisory role on a tailings project. The role includes setting out the site, applying the relevant designs and plans, managing resources, monitoring and reporting on progress against the project plan, and liaising with subcontractors.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Business/Functional Management

    • Ensure operational execution in their section aligns to organisational directives, as provided by senior superintendent.
    • Ensure compliance and adherence to policies, procedures, practices and legislative requirements for their section, identify gaps, propose improvements and implement approved changes as required.

    Financial and Commercial & Contract Management

    • Monitor and control the cost of materials and equipment, recommend and implement cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project.
    • Order materials and actively follow up on deliveries to prevent project delays.
    • Monitor daily costs and feed budget vs. actual cost variances to the Site Administrator and Senior Superintendent.

    Risk Management & Compliance, Incl Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Responsibility

    • Ensure all financial, technical, and operational risks and opportunities within your area of responsibility are identified, with appropriate mitigation actions implemented and monitored. Align relevant stakeholders and escalate risks as necessary.
    • Ensure that items manufactured off-site meet all specifications and that the supplier’s quality assurance processes are properly tracked.

    Stakeholder Management (internal/external)

    • Ensure professional interaction with clients and stakeholders at junior to middle management levels.
    • Ensure subcontractor operational performance meets requirements, identifying and escalating operational, productivity, labour, and cost risks related to subcontractor management.

    Management Operating System & Reporting

    • Put appropriate controls in place at point execution to inform management information and enable immediate corrective action when there are deviations from the plan.
    • Ensure all relevant data is collected accurately and on time at the point of execution, and shared with stakeholders in the required format, including cost, productivity, quality, safety, and health data, ensuring full compliance.

    Operations & project Management

    • Ensure work is executed on time, in full, to standard, and first-time-right, supporting operational goals and targets for your section; maintain records of production outputs and generate reports, charts, and graphs.
    • Ensure the selection, requisition, scheduling, and preparation of materials and plant for tailings work; verify that materials used align with specifications and assist with material usage control.

    Technical management

    • Responsible for setting and ensuring adherence to technical standards and work methods for your section, in accordance with organisational and client requirements, policies, procedures, and legislation.

    SHEQ Management

    • Responsible for setting and ensuring adherence to technical standards and work methods for their section, in accordance with organisational and client requirements, policies, procedures, and legislation.

    Staff Management

    • Ensure that labourers on site are kept informed of any issues that may concern them, such as retrenchments, paid or unpaid public holidays, and transport, by attending regular meetings with labour representatives.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • BTech or BSc Degree in Civil, Mining, Metallurgical, or Industrial Engineering.

    EXPERIENCE

    • 2 to 3 years’ experience in a Tailings environment.
    • Exposure to supervising, monitoring, and controlling production activities will be advantageous.

    SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and radiographs
    • Good understanding of the mining industry, with specific focus on tailings operations.
    • Knowledge of the technical and operational aspects of the tailings industry.
    • Understanding of tailings deposition, remining, water management, and load and haul methods.
    • Basic financial and budgeting control skills.

    Senior Superintendent (Limpopo)

    Description

    • This role exists to execute multiple large and small-scale projects.  Oversee safety, risk, technical and commercial management. Overall systems, processes and people management. Interact vertically with operations teams, clients and senior operations management and horizontally with broad business operations in the Division.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Business/Functional Management

    • Execute project deliverables in line with commercial goals.
    • Execute efficient production processes for profitable project outcomes.
    • Lead various teams of knowledge workers.

    Financial and Commercial & Contract Management

    • Manage contract commercial terms including terminations, dispute resolution, force majeure, escalations and profitability.
    • Manage costs and production within budget.

    Risk Management & Compliance, Incl Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Responsibility

    • Implement and monitor company’s ESG mandate and social responsibility and legislative compliance.

    Stakeholder Management (internal/external)

    • Promote ongoing communication with client representatives including Resident Engineer and other key internal mine stakeholders to foster good relations, through appropriate forums and interfaces.
    • Manage key interfaces with client contractors, operations and local communities.

    Operations & project Management

    • Manage tailings operations in line with company procedures.
    • Project execution and risk management on one or multiple sites within budget, scope, timelines.

    People Management

    • Lead and manage project execution teams.
    • Support, guide and coach teams.

    SHEQ Management

    • Oversee the implementation of the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality plans and compliance.
    • Execute zero harm mandate.

    Culture and Climate

    • Build a culture of continuous improvement for the duration of the project.
    • Align with client culture requirements as agreed with project management team, to enhance the client relationship.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • BSc Degree / BTech qualification in Mining / Metallurgy / Chemical / Civil or similar.
    • Project and a general management qualification would be advantageous.
    • Remining qualification would be advantageous.
    • Mineral Processing course.
    • Mineral Residue Disposal course (MRD101).

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum five years relevant experience in respect of managing tailings and/or remining sites.
    • Proven production management exposure as a Superintendent (re-mining).
    • General mining production experience would be an advantage.
    • Proven practical and hands-on experience in the management of leaders, labour and plant resources.
    • Planning and commissioning of projects, preferably on tailings or re-mining operations.
    • Minimum five years' experience in a management role, preferably in a re-mining environment.

    SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    • Solid knowledge of mining, production and tailings industry.
    • Knowledge of national legislation, standards and bylaws applicable to tailings environment.
    • Technical and operational skills.
    • Contracts management and legislation.
