    Network Planning Analyst Inland

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for all detailed analytical and evaluative review of specific investments, historical market data and portfolio performance.
    • Provide top-down analysis of portfolio allocation.
    • Develop, acquire, and maintain key risk and return metrics for distribution to senior management.
    • Assist in the development and tracking of impactful, environmental, and social investing strategies.
    • Benchmark portfolio investments to market indices
    • Lead and finalise the Multi year investment plan in their region which informs the capex plan and ultimately the construction and projects execution plan to be delivered by Construction Teams.

    Land bank Administration

    • Transfer municipal accounts from previous owners in to name of BP and arrange for municipal accounts (rates & taxes and consumption) to be addressed to BP
    • Ensure timeous payments of municipal accounts
    • Where applicable appoint agents to manage properties
    • Take responsibility for agreements between BP and agents
    • Appoint tenants and manage the relationship between them and BP
    • Maintain lease agreements pertaining to land bank sites
    • Ensure rentals are paid on time and manage rental deposits as per lease agreement

    Administrative Support on Property retailer rentals, utilities, taxes and income streams

    • Prepare a zero-based Revenue Budget for the year
    • Interrogate this budget on a monthly basis to ensure that all entries are legitimate and correctly allocated.
    • Flag immediately potential over expenditure to Line Managers.

    Loans, Grants & Discounts

    • Open general ledger accounts
    • Ensure budget is allocated 
    •  Validate the trade debtor accounts

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Technology, Property or equivalent discipline.

    Experience

    • Experience in property analysis.

    Network Planning & Real Estate Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    • Identify & acquire, through lease, purchase or supply agreements suitable properties to develop BP’s business. They will lead the in the divestment of surplus or unrequired sites to maximise the return to the business.
    • Manage BP’s portfolio of tenanted & sub-tenanted properties in accordance with lease or sub-lease agreements to maximise the return for the business in close collaboration with the Convenience Retail team where it is related to Partnerships. Negotiate new sublease agreements with prospective tenants & sub-tenants
    • Manage external Town Planning & Environmental Services suppliers for the development of new and existing sites
    • Ensure all property related income streams, rentals and costs are accounted for with Global Business Solutions and assurance on accurate monthly reporting.
    • The role will lead 2 Planning analysts who will support the role for the Inland Regions and Coastal Regions.

    Contracts Lead

    Key Responsibilities

    • Draft and complete DO supply and CL agreements at the contract renewal stage of existing service stations in the base network portfolio.
    • Adherence to and implementation of company policies and procedures whilst executing these.
    • Advise on and implement improvements in contracting, including process improvements, standardization and simplification of documentation and seeking efficiencies in ways of working.
    • Monitor the ongoing property market changes and competitor activity to inform statutory requirements, new ways of contracting and support negotiation tactics with dealers/landlords.
    • Develop strong working relationships with bp Legal counsel and external legal counsel.
    • Providing timely business assurance through the CVP stages that the contracting arrangements are aligned with the various ATN’s, EFM’s and business cases.
    • Advise and support the Network Development team in managing all contracting property related matters and issues that may arise (e.g. disputes with dealers/landlords, interpretation on contracting arrangement

    Legal Secretarial Support

    • Liaise closely with Legal Department to keep abreast of changes to BP’s Standard Legal agreements.
    • Provide standard legal agreements to the Network Development Team.
    • Implement a tracking system for all legal documents for all projects. Follow up progress to ensure that all documents are finalized and completed
    • Provide legal department with all the information to compile up to date and accurate contract summaries.

    General

    • Update the Retail Contract System (RCS) and expiry diary report and control the agreement expiry warning report
    • Provide a monthly review of any legal exposure due to contractual challenges to management

    Education

    • Property Law/ Contract Law/ Building Studies/ Quantity Surveying degree. Engineering is advantageous but not required.

    Experience

    • 2-3 years of experience in Property management or Contract Law

    VAT Tax Advisor- South Africa

    Job Responsibilities

    • Provide proactive indirect tax support to the business, with a focus on compliance, and the overall control environment for indirect taxes, including the operation of the Indirect Tax Compliance Framework (ITCF)
    • Provide advice on VAT-related queries, including VAT treatment of transactions, VAT planning, and VAT implications of business decisions
    • Conduct internal VAT and indirect tax audits to identify and address compliance issues. Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as needed
    • Stay up to date with changes in VAT and indirect tax legislation and ensure company’s practices are adjusted accordingly (including IT systems)
    • Review and maintain accurate records related to VAT and other indirect taxes. Ensure all documentation is complete to support bp VAT claims and customs declarations.
    • Prepare and present VAT reports and analyses to senior management, highlighting any potential risks or opportunities.
    • Conduct process reviews, proving the first line of defence and monitoring of indirect tax activities and controls led by the business and other functions.
    • Supply  to  the  identification,  design,  and  implementation  of  prioritized  VAT  planning opportunities for bp businesses.

    Experience and Qualifications

    • The ideal candidate will ideally hold a university degree in Finance, Accounting or Tax or equivalent certification and must have relevant VAT experience (at least 5 years) gained within a tax advisory firm, multinational company or as VAT specialist within the Tax authorities
    • Knowledge of the energy sector and its international environment is advantageous
    • Extensive knowledge of South African VAT and excise laws and regulations. ​
    • Deep understanding on the interaction between VAT, Transfer Pricing, Excise duties, Export Controls and Customs.
    • The VAT Tax Advisor will need to make decisions in a multifaceted and sophisticated environment, have strong analytical and reasoning skills and be able to work under pressure
