    Manager – Insurance Division - Cape Town

    The Insurance division of Intelligent Debt Management (IDM), a Financial Services group based in Cape Town, seeks a young professional to join the Team. The role of the successful candidate will be as a Manager within the Insurance Division and will report directly to the Head of Financial Services. The candidate will work together with a close team of Financial Services specialists. The candidate must be a good communicator and team player who can co-ordinate, manage, influence, and motivate within the team and the Group as a whole.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Develop, deploy, and distribute Financial Services products (including LT & ST insurance products and Rewards products) across the Group, Platforms & Partners in a data-driven, omni-channel distribution environment in a digital-first manner,
    • Grow and manage a team of insurance specialists,
    • Manage, implement, and execute on projects and processes, in-line with Strategic objectives, across the Group,
    • Tracking and monitoring the Insurance business,
    • Preparation and review of various reports and presentations,
    • Assist with Exco, Board and other reporting,
    • Recruit, manage, motivate and reward your team within the division.
    • Report to the Head of Financial Services regarding the management and co-ordination of the following activities in the division, in conjunction with managers and consultants providing various services: Risk, Internal Audit, Compliance, Actuarial, Internal controls, Internal Financial Controls, Cell captive activities, Regulatory and Legislative matters etc
    • The incumbent will work closely with the other members of the Team, the DebtBusters Team, ExCom, external consultants, and various internal and external service providers (eg. Finance , IT, HR, Marketing etc.)
    • They would have strong inter-personal and reporting writing skills.

    Required Qualifications :

    • Post Graduate - Bachelor of Business Science, or
    • B. Comm , Honours, or
    • Post Graduate – Actuarial Science

    Experience:

    • At least 4 years of Business experience

    Key Competencies:

    • Experience in the insurance industry a distinct advantage
    • Be fluent in spoken and written English.
    • Have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Have strong planning, organizing and time management skills.
    • Have good reporting writing and PowerPoint presentation skills
    • Have good Excel skills
    • Be able to work independently as well as be a team player.
    • Be able to multi-task effectively.
    • Have strong EQ and communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Be self-motivated, by taking an interest in the job, and obtaining satisfaction from the achievement of a job well done.
