Job Description
The candidate will report to the Regional Manager and will be responsible for maintaining and growing a panel of Financial Advisers in the Durban (Kwazulu Natal) region. As a result of their marketing, service delivery and product knowledge be expected to achieve certain sales targets as determined by the Regional Manager.
Responsibilities
Sales, Marketing and Relationship Building
To manage and develop relationships with IFAs and their support staff
To maintain and grow business flows from their designated IFA panels
To deliver against determined sales targets
To ensure an understanding by their IFAs of the philosophy and long term goals of Allan Gray
To promote Allan Gray and the products and services to their IFA panel
To ensure that the IFA and support staff are aware of, and well versed in, all Allan Gray’s systems and processes and to provide ongoing training to the IFA and their support staff
To manage the distribution and supply of all marketing collateral to IFAs
Do presentations to IFA’s and their clients when required to do so, and to take responsibility for the efficient co-ordination of the events
Arrange and over-see the co-ordination of IFA Presentations (In house/externally) – venues, presentations, marketing material, etc
Entertain the IFA to enrich the relationship and reward the IFA for their contribution to the business
To ensure the highest standard of service excellence for all Allan Gray Financial Advisers and Clients.
To identify trends in the industry and to gather competitor intelligence, and to take steps to ensure threats are countered, and opportunities are exploited
Operations and Administration
Strong marketing and relationship building skills
To manage and develop existing and new relationships with IFA’s and their support staff
To manage and develop existing and new relationships internally with the necessary stakeholders
To maintain and grow business flows from their designated IFA panels
To deliver against determined production targets
To ensure an understanding by their IFA’s of the philosophy and long term goals of Allan Gray and to promote Allan Gray, all the products and services offered
To ensure that the IFA and support staff is aware of and well versed in all Allan’s systems and processes and to provide ongoing training them
Do presentations to IFA’s and their clients when required to do so and to take responsibility for the efficient co-ordination of events and functions. This includes arranging / overseeing the coordination of the IFA presentations. In-house and externally. Venues, presentations, marketing material etc.
To ensure the highest standard of service excellence for all Allan Gray financial advisors and clients
To identify trends in the industry and to gather competitor intelligence and to take steps to ensure threats are countered and opportunities are exploited
To understand your own SWOT and that of your IFA’s and how to utilize this information to add value for the best possible outcome.
To keep and maintain a record of all management information of the IFA practice, including the structure, business plan and marketing plans
To develop and maintain an annual strategic and business plan and to execute against that plan
Solve and manage queries on an on-going basis
To pro-actively report back to the IFA and support staff on the tracking of all new business, queries, outstanding requirements, assets under management, and all ad hoc requests
To respond to and resolve all the IFA and support staff ad hoc requests
To meet with and report progress against targets and tracking of your business plan objectives to the Regional Manager
To advise the Regional Manager of any incident that might compromise the values of Allan Gray
To arrange visits by the Regional Manager to the Business Development Manager’s panel of IFAs
To ensure the cost effective running of their panel of IFAs
To liaise with relevant persons and divisions at Allan Gray head office, to ensure delivery of their responsibilities
To keep and maintain a portfolio of evidence of all daily activities for presentation purposes to a panel of assessors once a year as required by the BDM competency model
Qualification
Formal qualification or relevant experience - relevant business degree (CFP) or job related experience.

Ideally the successful candidate for this role should have experience in client service or distribution within the financial services industry, along with leadership qualities, strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate and secure commitment from clients
Should be self-motivated, action orientated and resilient
The candidate should have a friendly and diplomatic nature, possessing sufficient maturity to speak confidently and with empathy to intermediaries and clients, many of whom may be senior executives
The highest standards of personal integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality is essential
The candidate, whilst needing to be able to cope with shifting priorities will need to ensure conformity with processes and rules.
The job requires someone who is emotionally mature, energetic, flexible, self-managed, self-motivated, action orientated and who enjoys working in a team environment
The candidate should have a passion for people, able to use their initiative, and be willing to go the extra mile
The candidate should be able to work under stress, while retaining composure and focus
The candidate needs to be fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans

Mitigate software quality risks through effective use of test automation
Define effective test automation approach
Contribute towards test automation in terms of design, coding and code review
Evaluate test tools and identify best way to apply them in the team
Run POCs on future testing technologies and frameworks
Evaluate and optimise use of test automation tools
Implement test automation framework(s)
Share automation knowledge and help grow manual tester’s technical competencies
Requirements
Minimum of 5+ years software test automation experience
Pro-active self-starter with a high work ethic
Continuous learning mind-set
Strong test analysis skills
Solid coding skills (JavaScript or C# preferable)
Comfortable with complexity and able to deliver simultaneously across multiple projects / responsibilities
Key Competencies
Extensive test automation experience including full-stack testing
Asset management experience would be beneficial
Excellent attention to detail – data and detail driven
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills – evaluative
Very disciplined and methodical, thorough working style, determined and persistent – conscientious
