Purpose of the job:

• To provide strategic direction, leadership and management of Provincial operations by overseeing the rendering of ICT services, monitoring and reporting on programme/project performance, improving customer satisfaction and promoting customer advocacy, enhancing long term client relations which is evidenced by improved Client satisfaction levels. Additionally, to oversee the effectiveness and efficiency of the Province towards the realization of revenue growth and the optimal utilization of skills and competencies in the province in order to ensure a sustainable SITA value proposition.

Key Responsibility Areas

• Lead the facilitation, development and implementation of the SITA Provincial and Local Government Service Strategy.
• Drive continuous improvement to improve service delivery to customers.
• Consolidate and facilitate the implementation of the Provincial Government departments IT and Procurement
• Plans in respect of the SITA mandate.
• Provide direction and leadership in the general management and operations of the Province.
• Drive customer satisfaction excellence through effective Customer Advocacy strategies.
• Provide thought leadership to clients with regard to digital solution provisioning.
• Ensure effective management of resources (i.e. budget/finances, asset) within the Province.
• Ensure effective Human Capital Management (Leadership).
• Implement Service Delivery Model for Tier 3 Province capabilities, as per the SITA Tiered Distribution Model.
• Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree / B.Tech in Business Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or
• Commerce and/or equivalent (NFQ Level and Credits).

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience: 8+ years management/leadership experience within an IT environment, of which 4 years’ experience as a general manager or senior manager in corporate/public sector organisation.
• Knowledge of: Corporate Governance; ICT Governance and compliance; Solution Development; ICT Service Delivery; IT Quality Management; General Business management and development; General HR Management; General Financial management; General ICT procurement; COTS (Commercial off the Shelf) products; OSS (Opensource software) products; IT Strategies and architecture; Programme/Project Management; Business risk and issue identification; Knowledge of PFMA, MFMA and procurement policies in government; Consulting in a digital society.

Purpose of the job

• Responsible for the proactive monitoring of Database Management Systems in the Mainframe environment The incumbent will also be responsible to maintain and support various database instances to ensure continuous  service to the client.
• Provision Database services, design, support, install, maintain and administer database management system and related products.

Key Responsibility Areas

• Infrastructure Preparation.
• Management and Administration of applications databases.
• 3rd party and user Support.
• Reporting and Communication.

Qualifications and Experience

• Required Qualification:minimum 3-Year National Higher Diploma / NQF Level 6 in an ICT related field.
• Advantage:- Relevant database certification, e.g. Certification in IBM Mainframe systems/DB2 is an added advantage.
• Experience: 3 - 5 years’ practical experience in the DB2 Mainframe environment.

Technical Competencies Description

• Knowledge: IBM Mainframes general knowledge, knowledge of DB2 on the Mainframe, Knowledge of software development lifecycle and database change management & automation Project Management Business/Systems Liaison Customer Relationship Management Meta Data Management Information Architecture/Strategy Business Intelligence Architecture/Tools.

Purpose of the job

• This job is responsible for the proactive monitoring of Database Management Systems in the Mainframe or Midrange environment. The incumbent will also be responsible to maintain and support various database instances to ensure continuous service to the client.

Key Responsibility Areas
• Prepare Infrastructure for implementation and deployment
• Management and Administration of application, database, patches and service packs
• Provide user support, 3rd party support, reporting and communication
• Report on the work of the section to ensure accountability
• Security and disaster recovery
• Develop procedures and standards for database administration and related services and monitor implementation thereof
• Management and supervision of the team.
• Financial management.
Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum: 3-year National Higher Diploma / Degree in an ICT related field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology and Engineering). Plus ADABAS/Natural/JCL Oracle/MySQL/MCSE/MCSA certifications preferred Mainframe services.
• Experience: 6-7 years practical work experience of database administration on different platforms with management /supervisory responsibility in a large corporate/public sector organization this should include: programming experience in ADABAS, Natural and Job Control Language (JCL). Reporting, Pricing and Analytics, and IT Infrastructure to develop an understanding of data and information needs, identify solutions and improve the quality of service while providing support through the logical and physical design of databases. Experience with Mainframe services (ADABAS, Natural, JCL, VISTA and ADASTRIP) a plus.

Purpose of the job

• Ensure the availability, integrity, security, and optimal performance of z/OS communication server resources within the Mainframe environment.

Key Responsibility Areas

• To manage and prepare infrastructure for implementation and deployment.
• To manage, administrate and maintain system software and hardware.
• To provide user support.
• To report and communicate.
• To monitor and manage the network.
• To diagnose and resolve problems.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum: 1 - 2-year National Certificate in Computer Science or Information Technology or Network Architecture or Computer Engineering. / NQF level 5 or accredited specialised courses.
• Certification: OEM/OSM Certification (e.g. Oracle, MCSE Data Platform, OCP Solaris, Redhat Linux or MCSE.
• Experience: 2-3 years’ experience or internship in computer science or information technology. Experience and exposure in the Data Centre environment will be an added advantage.

Technical Competencies Description

• Knowledge of: System Programming. Operating system Z/OS, Z/LINUX, Z/VM and mainframe software tools i.e.
• SDSF (System Display and Search Facility), TSO/ISPF, JCL (Job Control Language). Other mainframe products like
• CA-Spool and Connect Direct will be beneficial.
