    Community Manager

    Department: Creative

    Platform 5 is looking for a Creative Community Manager who has strong copywriting skills and is fun to work with. You’ll be part of a team of Designers, Brand Strategists, and Creators who make content for some of the world’s biggest brands. Experience in writing in South African vernac and with big brands is essential.
    As an online Community Manager, you will form part of our clients’ online voice, and will tell their story by engaging with their online communities. You will be involved with planning, posting and moderating content across multiple platforms.
    Through daily engagement and analysis, you will champion community spirit, offer optimisations to strategy and creative teams, and confidently collaborate across the business.
    ROLE | WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING?

    • Respond to comments and questions on our clients’ online community and participate in conversations around their business, as them, on a daily basis.
    • Assign relevant online queries to Customer Support and Sales teams, and ensure all queries are dealt with. Assist with planning, posting and moderating content across a variety of platforms.
    • Contribute where relevant to the content production process.
    • Take part in brainstorms and help conceptualise creative ideas.
    • Stay close to the numbers and report on their online community regularly.
    • Use insights gained from engaging in online conversations to assist in building out monthly content and social media calendars.
    • Oversee the community management process and ensure their systems are being used in the most effective and scalable way.
    • Identify relevant conversations happening online that our clients could be part of, and engage in those conversations.
    • Assist with on the ground social media posts at events.

    REQUIREMENTS | WHO YOU ARE?

    • At least 2+ years of experience in Social Media Marketing or Community Management.
    • Degree or Diploma in Marketing or Communication-related fields.
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
    • Great English spelling and grammar, with at least 1 additional South African language.
    • Serious attention to detail.
    • Ability to interact and collaborate with various internal teams and manage relationships.
    • Ability to effectively manage a community management system and necessary tools.
    • Experience in communicating as a brand, within brand guidelines.
    • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

    Head of Paid Media

    Scope of role

    Platform 5 is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Head of Paid Media. The ideal candidate is an agile performance marketer with a proven track record of measurable growth through making data-driven decisions.

    This role is hands on and will oversee paid search, display advertising, paid social, and our affiliate network. The Head of Paid Media will manage our agency partners, internal teams, reporting, and budgets for all paid media. The ideal candidate lives and breathes digital media and are always one step ahead of the next new trend.

    Main responsibilities

    General

    • Work to ensure that all client accounts have a robust commercial strategy in place, together with specific performance targets and objectives tailored to meet or exceed the business and commercial expectations of the client and of Platform 5.
    • To develop a strong understanding of the products, competition, industry, marketing goals and objectives of each of your clients.
    • To devise, implement and run innovative campaigns across your client accounts in line with the client's goals and objectives.
    • To manage budgets in line with strategy and ensure that monthly spend is on target.
    • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
    • Identifying and communicating goals and objectives for the paid media division and reporting to executive directors on performance thereof - Building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results.
    • Identifying and addressing improvement opportunities and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.
    • Providing supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training; mentoring; assigning duties; providing recognition; and ensuring diversity awareness.
    • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans.
    • Utilizing and supporting the open-door Policy and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.

    KPIs and reports

    • To measure the effectiveness of the campaigns across your assigned client accounts. To achieve increases across these campaigns in traffic and conversions and to ensure delivery against all other key performance indicators agreed with the Commercial Strategy team and the client.
    • To use a variety of proprietorial and third-party tools to compile and draw insight from both company-specific, sector-specific and generic industry data, in order to better understand user trends and behaviour and add context to the performance of each account
    • To produce monthly reports for clients containing a robust description of monthly activity, suitable advice and recommendations and a clear summary of performance against the key performance indicators and metrics agreed with the client
    • To ensure all reports are of a top quality written standard and adhere to Platform 5 brand style guidance.

    Client focus

    • To work closely with the account management team to ensure that each client’s account manager is kept up-to-speed with progress and results so that all clients receive top quality, professional customer service from both you and from the client’s account manager.
    • To maintain regular contact with clients and provide timely and efficient responses to all customer queries.
    • To regularly attend and actively take part in client meetings.
    • To strive for excellence across your work for Platform 5 and its clients.
    • To assist in the business development process by pitching to and winning new clients.

    Analytical and technical

    • To devise and follow extensive, well thought out paid media strategies for clients.
    • To optimise client accounts for maximum performance using a variety of paid media practices.
    • To assist sales with proposals/strategies and meeting preparation.
    • To carry out/contribute to detailed consultancies/audits for assigned new customers as required.
    • To carry out regular maintenance for a number of assigned ongoing client accounts, ensuring the efficient day-to-day management of these campaigns.

    Best practice and organisation

    • To efficiently manage the paid media teams workload and accurately record your time using the company timesheet system.
    • To freely share knowledge, insight, best practice, tactics and ideas.
    • To ensure your knowledge of the digital marketing industry is kept up to date and relevant by networking/researching/reading blogs and news sources.

    Key skills and experience

    • Highly numerate with great business acumen.
    • Experienced in managing medium-large client budgets.
    • Literate with the ability to produce top quality written reports.
    • 5+ years’ experience of paid media management, preferably in an agency environment.
    • Extensive knowledge of paid media methodologies and techniques for managing search, display, social, and programmatic campaigns.
    • 3+ years Experience using ad serving systems such as Campaign Manager and DV360.
    • Analytical, with the ability to interpret information, news, data and research quickly – and distil the most important/relevant information for intelligent strategic development.
    • Advanced knowledge of Google Analytics and other major third-party analytics platforms.
    • Demonstrable skill at setup and implementation of new paid media accounts a necessity.
