    Machine Shop Manager

    Job Description

    • The Group has a Machine Shop Manager position available. The Machine Shop Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily production, ensuring CNC and conventional machines run efficiently to meet quality, productivity and safety standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge and leadership.

    He/she will also be required to:

    • Manage the daily operations and workflow of the Machine Shop
    • Plan and schedule machine shop jobs and coordinate team activities to meet production targets
    • Ensure work is completed to required quality standards, drawing tolerances, and timelines
    • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for machine shop processes
    • Use the CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) system to plan, track, and record tasks and raise work requests
    • Monitor team productivity, manpower utilization, and work quality
    • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and support to the team, including tooling and job planning
    • Program and support CNC machining using Mastercam for milling and turning operations
    • Program and set up Siemens-controlled CNC machines, guiding team members in programming and setup
    • Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to support operations
    • Ensure preventive maintenance and calibration of machines and equipment
    • Maintain compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and health & safety regulations
    • Manage attendance, timekeeping, leave, overtime planning, and related administrative processes
    • Prioritize urgent and breakdown jobs in coordination with internal customers
    • Manage tooling selection, inventory, and tool life monitoring
    • Optimize machining processes, feeds, speeds, and setups to improve efficiency
    • Ensure correct coolant management, lubrication, and housekeeping standards
    • Perform other duties appropriate to the role

    Qualifying Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years’ Management experience
    • Minimum 10 years post trade test working experience in a manufacturing / production environment
    • Relevant tertiary Qualification
    • Relevant Trade Test Certificate
    • Working knowledge of OHSA
    • Good written, verbal and listening skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel
    • Valid Driver’s license and own reliable transport
    • Excellent computer skills (MS Office)
    • Be fully competent and able to program with Mastercam (Milling and Laths)
    • Be fully competent and able to program with G-Codes
    • Have expertise on material characteristics

    CNC Machinist

    Job Description

    • The Machine Shop department currently has a vacancy for a detail orientated, process-driven, dedicated individual to join their team.

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Examine detailed drawings or specifications to establish the job, material and equipment requirements
    • Program and set-up tooling in the CNC Turning and milling machine when manufacturing different components
    • Perform routine and preventative maintenance practices on existing equipment
    • Slotting or drilling metal stock or components
    • Ensure that the quality of work meets the required standards
    • Fit and assemble metal parts and tools or sub- assemblies
    • Set up and / or operate hand and machine tools
    • Check accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies
    • Abide by the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act

    Qualifying Criteria

    • Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
    • Relevant Red Seal Trade Test certificate would be advantageous

    Engineering Workshop Administrator

    Job Description:

    • The Engineering department has a vacancy for an attentive to detail, process-driven and organized individual to join their team as a Workshop Administrator, mainly focused on assisting with administration for the Electrical workshop. The position requires someone who is able to work in a fast paced, demanding and pressurized environment. The successful candidate will report directly to the Electrical Manager.

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Managing email requests and correspondence
    • Managing telephonic requests and correspondence
    • Processing of quotations and invoicing for repairs, maintenance, parts and tools
    • Ordering parts and spares from the internal stores
    • Liaise with suppliers regarding quotations and orders
    • Filling and record keeping as it relates to the department
    • Assisting with CWorks maintenance system, assigning and distributing requests as instructed by Manager
    • Manage the office, and assist with the flow of tasks and responsibilities
    • Assist Manager with adherence to relevant safety requirements
    • Assist Manager with overtime planning
    • Any other tasks including administrative functions such as completing timesheets, reports as agreed with the Electrical Manager, suited to this level of responsibility

    Qualifying Criteria

    • Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
    • Relevant administrative qualification or diploma
    • Experience in a maintenance/engineering administration role
    • Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in a similar role
    • Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, MS outlook)
    • Strong administrative ability
    • Knowledgeable on the Occupational Health & Safety Act
    • Sound communication skills (understand, read and write English)

    Qualified Maintenance Electrician - Heavy Industry

    Job Description

    The Group has a position available for a suitably experienced, attention to detail and dedicated individual to join the Engineering team as a Qualified Electrician. The successful candidate will report to the Electrical Department Manager. Included in the responsibilities are:

    • Assisting the team with maintenance and upgrading of existing electrical control and distribution systems
    • Electrical diagnoses and suitable repairs

    • Point to point checks on PLCs
