    Maintenance Foreman

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Competencies:

    • Grade 12
    • Tertiary Engineering Diploma (advantageous)
    • Red Seal Trade Test Certificate
    • Experience in working with various disciplines is advantageous such as Boilermaking,
    • Diesel Mechanics, Fitting and Electrical
    • Previous supervisory experience (MHSA)
    • Valid unendorsed RSA driver’s license
    • Exceptional knowledge of electrical & mechanical equipment & principles
    • Knowledge of Maintenance Management Methods
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a mining and/or heavy machinery and facilities involving complex production processes

    Duties and Responsibilities (not limited not):

    • Drive and ensure upholding of all Health & Safety; Environmental and Mine Health and
    • Safety Act rules and regulations
    • Oversee daily quarry operations including drilling, blasting, crushing, and haulage.
    • Co-ordinate the work of the maintenance team with production requirements
    • Oversee the maintenance & effective installation of all electrical and mechanical equipment
    • Co-ordinate and ensure planning and preparation for legal inspections
    • Ensures maximum reliability and availability of mining equipment and maintains good
    • integrity of mechanical equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Drive preventative and proactive planned maintenance
    • Assist in planning, developing, and implementing building maintenance plans
    • Ensure Maintenance of crushing & shaping equipment, conveyor systems, vibrating equipment, dust suppression and extraction systems, hydraulic and pneumatic reticulation etc.
    • Ensure adherence to Monthly budget management, stock control and spars availability
    • Drive and be responsible for continuous improvement, equipment or process upgrades and repairs.
    • Employee supervision; timekeeping, overtime management
    • Participate in all legal audits
    • Mentor interns and Learner artisans
    • Perform ad hoc duties as required by management
    • Deliver results under a high-pressure operation and environment
    • Assist in training of Apprentices and Learners when required
    • Willing to assist in various operations when required
    • Operate heavy tools and work manually with their hands to complete tasks – using own initiative.

    Batcher

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Competencies:

    • Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience as a Concrete Batcher or in a similar role within a readymix or quarrying environment.
    • Proven knowledge of concrete mix designs, batching procedures, and quality control standards.
    • Computer literacy with experience using batching systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
    • Numerical accuracy and attention to detail in recording batch weights, moisture adjustments, and production data.
    • Reliable, honest, and motivated.
    • Safety-conscious, with a sound understanding of safety protocols and basic mechanical principles regarded as an advantage.
    • Medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act.

    Duties and Responsibilities (not limited not):

    • Operate and monitor the batching plant to produce concrete according to approved mix designs and specifications.
    • Ensure accuracy in weighing and recording all materials used in the batching process.
    • Conduct regular checks on moisture content and adjust mixes as required to maintain product quality.
    • Coordinate with the Production and Technical to ensure timely and consistent concrete supply.
    • Perform daily plant inspections, report defects, and assist in minor maintenance or troubleshooting where necessary.
    • Maintain batching records, delivery notes, and other documentation in line with company standards.
    • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and promote a culture of safe work practices.
    • Assist with stock level monitoring of raw materials and report shortages promptly.
    • Uphold housekeeping standards in and around the batching area

    Dumper Operator

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Competencies:

    • Minimum Grade 12.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.
    • Be literate and functionally numerate.
    • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar environment.
    • Pre-employment medical required.
    • Must have a valid Operator’s certificate.
    • Basic mechanical background would be advantageous.
    • Medically fit in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act.

    Duties and Responsibilities (not limited not):

    • Operating the TMM (Dumper) and carrying out all related tasks
    • Reporting general mechanical elementary problems.
    • Operate TMM (Dumper) in a respectable safe manner in line with training received.
    • Be safety conscious.
    • Able to work as part of a team.
    • Acknowledge that Management may allocate additional tasks when tasks cannot be completed on a standard allocated job.
    • Keep the machine clean, safe and in good working order by completing the daily prestart checklist correctly.
    • Assist with the housekeeping around the production area.
    • Be able to work under pressure and sometimes extended hours (including overtime and Saturdays).
    • Must be able to carry out instructions given by your superior.

    General Worker

    Minimum Qualifications / Experience / Competencies:

    • Minimum Grade 12.
    • Be literate and functionally numerate.
    • Pre-employment medical required.
    • Ability to stand for long periods.
    • Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices, and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites.
    • Assist with manual labour and plant maintenance.

    Duties and Responsibilities (not limited not):

    • Ensure that the plant is cleaned regularly and as when required.
    • Assist with general maintenance tasks on and around the plant.
    • Maintain the cleanliness of the general working area i.e. cleaning of screens, etc.
    • Carry out other instructions given by your superior.
    • Report any general elementary problems to his/her immediate supervisor.
    • Adhere to all SHE rules and regulations that are applicable on the site.
    • Acknowledge that Management reserves the right to allocate additional tasks when for whatever reason the task cannot be completed on standard allocated job.
