    Client Support Consultant

    Key Purpose

    • The primary function of this role is to deliver the Discovery standard of professional, effective and efficient customer service in a contact centre environment.     Development Manager

    Key Purpose

    • Acts a technical owner of a set of applications.     Training Manager (Senior)

    Key Purpose

    • To lead the Discovery Institute of Training (DIT) Sales and Distribution learning portfolio by ensuring that facilitated learning events, Discovery product learning, financial planning learning and sales capability projects are planned, resourced, delivered and measured to a consistently high standard. The role is accountable for enabling advisers, sales teams, distribution channels and related business stakeholders to build the product, financial planning, compliance, sales and customer engagement capabilities required to deliver quality outcomes for Discovery clients and the business.

    • Lead the end-to-end Sales and Distribution learning portfolio across Discovery products, financial planning, sales process capability and distribution-related learning priorities.

    Product Manager

    Key Purpose

    • The digital product manager is responsible for maximising the value of the product and the work of the development team. This role has an extensive list of duties and responsibilities which requires an agile mindset that drives different dimensions; technical, business and design. The digital product manager is responsible for tackling and solving difficult problems for customers and the business.

    Key outputs:

    Developer (Senior)

    Key Purpose

    • Design and implement robust, scalable and optimally performing systems using Java related technologies, according to provided specifications, standards and procedures, while ensuring compliance with the architectural standards and guidelines laid out by Discovery.

    Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

    Design:

    Key purpose

    • This position is based in the Discovery Connect Sales call centre, and reports to the sales team leader. The successful individual will be required to conduct Discovery Life telesales.

    Java Developer

    Key Purpose

    • Translates the CRS and PRS into executable code without errors. Finds effective software solutions to technical issues. Ensure that the application performs the functions as required by business. Releases source code with zero defects.

    Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

    Source Code:

    • Implement the Technical Specification using the relevant development language.
    • Produce source code by applying the DHS technical standards, and referencing the systems' exposed sub processes.
    • Update the reference documentation and update the scheduling tool with progress.
    • Consult with BA and Architect on technical issues encountered.
    • Document logic and comments inside code.
    • Document Database structure changes and rule changes.
    • Produce or update the configuration files.       

    Conduct Unit Testing:

    • Conduct unit testing, and fix any defects found.
    • Review error logs and provide BA with updates on fixes found in testing.
    • Consult and assist the BA in reviewing defects found in testing.
    • During Test Standby duties, handle any defects as raised in the testing process.
    • Release the source code with zero defects.

    Client Relationship Management and Networking:

    • Ensuring alignment to business requirements, and building trust with clients by displaying managerial competence.
    • Understanding business requirements, business systems and process context, impact and risks.
    • Participating in client forums, MANCO, EXCO, planning/strategy sessions, reporting
    • Acting as Consultant to the internal client
    • Interfacing to other teams where required
    • Interfacing to external clients, vendors

    Delivery and Support of Applications:

    • Management of activities within the SDLC (process owner)
    • Participating and enabling the business Prioritisation process
    • Scheduling and prioritisation of tasks and resources
