    Procurement Specialist - Indirect (JHB)

    Job Profile Summary

    In this role, you are the single point of contact for local leaders in a specific geographic or plant location. You manage the interactions between business stakeholders and sourcing teams and collaborate across the manufacturing, supply chain and the commercial business. You also manage the local implementation of regional and/or global projects.

    How you will contribute

    Key Responsibilities:

    • You will execute the daily procurement agenda by acting as the single point of contact for the procurement function at a site, in a country or country cluster, and will oversee the daily interaction with plants, supply chain, commercial teams, quality assurance, sourcing teams and suppliers.
    • deliver service-level targets by ensuring material availability, escalating when needed, and support business continuity planning implementation, activating when needed.
    • support the execution of sourcing projects and execute sourcing/spot-buying or contracting activities as agreed with the accountable spend areas.
    • own the source-to-pay process compliance key indicators and take corrective action when necessary.
    • Ensure all business requirements are considered in line with set company policies and procedures as well relevant legislation.
    • Determine opportunities and priorities across all business units, categories and sub-categories
    • Evaluate market summary data to make effective sourcing decisions

    Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree ideally with a further qualification in Procurement / Supply chain / Business
    • 5+ years in FMCG environment
    • Extensive experience in CAPEX, Logistics, Warehousing, and maintenance, repair, and operations.
    • Able to demonstrate agility and efficiency in execution.

That means you will ensure that facilities provided are well maintained, regulation/procedure are in place and implemented, hazards/aspects assessments are conducted, the accident both caused by unsafe acts and conditions are reduced and energy and waste are driven down.

    How you will contribute

    You will:

    • Assist and lead the cultural transformation regarding HSE to help lead plant to achieve Zero accidents and Incidents
    • Be responsible for coordinating and overseeing implementation of all Health & Safety programs and processes
    • Participate in investigations to facilitate closure of identified non-conformances
    • Provide Health and Safety expertise for the plant for all new projects and change management activities
    • Follow up on non-conformances and develops the systems to resolve them based on root cause analysis
    • Maintain an up-to-date incident reporting system, assist with investigating incidents in conjunction with the HSE Pillar team/safety committee and drive the completion of corrective actions to eliminate root causes/reoccurrence
    • Develop technical guidance programs to identify and remove physical hazards`

    What you will bring

    • Experience in Environmental Health and Safety
    • Must have completed Environmental Health and Safety training in areas such as OSHA, EPA, DNREC
    • Experience in safety, and/or environmental technical standards
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with individuals at all levels
    • Understanding and knowledge of regulatory reports and compliances including experience with ISO

    More about this role

    • Education / Certifications: SAMTRAC/NEBOSH certificate or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Environment or Safety (Ideally).
    • Travel requirements: This role will be based at our Gqeberha, South Africa site.
    • Work schedule: 100%, full time, permanent.
    • Preferred: Prior experience working in a IL6S environment
